My much praised 2728 leaf blower took a dump on Christmas day. I was cleaning out the shed, it was pretty cold but it wasn't running for very long. It turned off, and I assumed the battery was dead. Put in a fresh battery, it worked for 30 seconds, then sounded like there was a stick in the fan blade for about 2 seconds, then it quit again. The fresh 9.0 battery flashed 1 bar when I pushed the button, and it wouldn't turn on any other M18 tools. I put the battery in the charger, it immediately showed full charge, and started functioning again. At least that problem fixed itself.

Now when I pull the trigger with a functioning battery, I see smoke being generated inside, but no movement. I took the blower into the service center (less than 5 min out of my way on my way home from work) and the guy said they were just going to replace it, they didn't fix them. They didn't have any in stock, I'll get a new one next week.

Anybody else used theirs in freezing temperatures? I can't believe that's an issue.

The EXACT chain of events happened to me. I thought it nuked a brand new 9.0 battery, glad it didn’t though.

Crappy pic, but I decided to move over to Milwaukee after getting tired of the now defunct Craftsman C3 line. With some of my Christmas bonus I got these.

Reconditioned Fuel Driver/Driver kit with 2-5.0
Fuel Grinder w/9.0
Fuel Circ Saw w/9.0
Fuel Sawzall w/9.0
Bare cutout tool
Bare jigsaw

Got 10% off thru CPO plus 10% ebay bucks so after it is said and done I paid about $1k. I dont think I did too bad.

Wow!!! I am slowly transitioning from c3 as well. You will be blown away. I never realized what I was missing and how sad the cells was to I started using some fuel stuff.

That must have been one heck of a Christmas bonus if that was only part of it. Mine was 200 after taxes....

I had quite a few tools from the c3 line but i dropped the circ saw and it never was the same and the sawzall finally gave up after 13 years (my wife bought me the original 4 piece set in 2004 for christmas). Then I knocked the jigsaw off the workbench and bent the base, so I decided it was time. Christmas bonus was a little better then midyear at $5k, but $3400 after taxes. I also bought a Vega table saw fence and a wen planer.

Hell of a good start your got there..

Thanks. I am hoping the 9.0 batteries are what they are suppose to be. I have never bought a reconditioned tool, but I was a little let down. I know what I was buying, but the hammer drill is pretty beat out of the box. The impact was in great shape, but the drill has a piece broke off the top where the handle attaches. Im afraid if I get too rowdy with it I may hurt myself, lol.

If it's the plastic end cap(body) they're readily available at a pretty cheap price. Nice haul!

I dont buy recon/refurb anymore after an M12 OMT died after one use a few years ago. Especially since I get the stuff new for less than refurb price. I sent that M12 OMT back to CPO and they gave me refund.

Its the gray cast aluminum piece that the handle clamps to on the drill. It has a chunk missing but still holds the handle semi solid.

My first tools were the older fuel hammer drill impact set.. I got an unheard of deal anymore from CPO as refurb off eBay. $190 shipped for the tools and 2 4.0 batteries w/charger and case. Mine were in good shape, with just the white lettering on the drill fading away.

If you keep buying tools and building your collection, what I wound up doing was finding a set on clearance in store at hd.. I kept the new drill, batteries, and sold my refurb drill in the case as a used tool with the charger on eBay. There was nothing wrong with drill that wasn't cosmetic. Once your done (you'll never really be "done") with the bigger items, you might find it worth it to just pick up a new drill as bare tool off eBay and sell the old one.. by then, spending another $50 out of pocket once the old one gets sold won't seem so bad.

But if whats broke/missing off the drill effects the functionality, I'd call CPO (if that's where you got it) and tell them.. something like the handle mount should NOT be missing. Refurb tools should perform like new, and just suffer cosmetically only.

Just got the usb rover light as a bday present. Very impressed with the light output and light color. Not the typical bling led light I’m used to seeing

Re: The Milwaukee addiction thread! 😊

I'm assuming the older organizers (not packout compatible).

The bins are Packout case compatible.
The molded drill and charger holder insert for the small Packout case that the $99.00 1/2" hammer drill or hex impact driver kit deal comes in fits in those cases too. Take the bins removed to fit the insert in and put them in the small Packout case. Then you have a case that can hold the drill and charger along with screws and whatever.

Well I did it, Rural King had on black friday a one item 20 percent off, I used it on the 2767 Gen II 1/2" impact. Came out to be $180 after tax. Sold my Gen I for what I paid for it, $150 cash.

Now, if only I can find the protective boot without costing me an arm and a leg, anyone found one decently priced for the 2767?

The Milwaukee addiction is definitely an addiction, and a painful one at that. My hands are torn to s#*t right now from opening the delivery of hand tools of theirs I ordered. They have the Fort Knox of packaging. The store theyre sold at dont have to worry about thieves opening the packs and taking anything, thats for sure

The only Milwaukee items I have paid full price for. At-least didn't pay tax. 🤣b7abe02b4fc9a60fda82104d15e5348c.jpg

Could anyone tell me the part no. for the boot for that compact impact?

Much appreciated.

Used two of the Kobalt charging stations to consolidate my red tools. Still need to get the Super Hawg, 1/4 Fuel Ratchet, and the Heat Gun. 881bacdce223245218afc1005b7f6c7d.jpg700b7fcfd3063997dcc7af9019a8b7c6.jpg35f52cb3a45e9542230bb404500df5e3.jpg

Thought I'll share my M18 Lantern lithophane light diffuser. Printed out of PLA using a monoprice select plus 3D printer. It snaps into place.

Lithophane makes dark colors thicker and light color thinner so that you can get a grayscale when you shine light through it.

Looks great! I used 2 of the Kobalts as well for my Milwaukee tools. 1 for M12, 1 for M18. Still ran out of room :(

so, how do you lock down those side shelves on those kobalt storage units? i have two, and on both of them, the side shelves dont stay in place. when i pull something out, the shelf often slides out an inch or two. there are no catches along the back wall to hold them in place. what am i missing?

That is amazing. I'd be willing to be ALOT of new parents would love a small nightlight light that in the nursery.. that's a great idea..

Can I offer another small idea.. "patent pending" You should make a picture frame with enclosed LED's mounted behind the perimeter of the frame that would illuminate the picture from behind - like that, and sell those online with a 110v plug.. how many new parents would love a picture like that as a nightlight in the nursery.. umm - all of them...

Seems we have similar OCD by the way you did yours with the Milwaukee, so I say go for it! lol. With the coupons that can be found for Lowes, I think its worth it.
