Nice how all the split points are lined up - you knew I would be looking in, didn't you?
The index is really cool.

Today I finished the wall around the bathroom and behind the desk. Not exactly finished-I still need to do a little framing and go up about 3' to hide the storage. I also need to think of some clever way for access to said storage.
I got that chair you see there I bought yesterday at the Habitat store for $3.75.

that looks sharp! Very cool.
Ok, since I've been accused of being a slacker, here are a couple pics of the dark side or dark end I guess.
The south end has become a repository for assorted junk, furniture, paint cans and auto parts. I'm starting to insulate down there so everything is getting drug out. Some to the dump, some to Habitat (Tuesday) and the rest will get stored in a solution that is yet to evolve.
Next week I need to do a little work on the Impala. After that the old '78 Chev P/U needs some attention on the fuel system. Then, finally, the VW will get moved over into bay one and the motor comes out. When it comes back out of there it will be back in it's owner's (my wife) loving arms. It shouldn't be too bad of a job.
Once the VW moves I can get everything on that end organized. And if I do it right a car won't be able to fit in that bay anymore![]()

Nice to seem pics of a shop actually being used and messy...some of these shops are cleaner them my house...then again I have a 2 year old!![]()
Sweet!14/3 Triple plug.
How do you like it so far?
I LOVE the reclaimed wood look. I am searching CL right now for old fence sections.
-Tom
Well go get some and drive them up here to me!I just found 7 sections in a alley. But this time of year they are hard to find, nobody is replacing fences when there is 1.5 feet of snow on the ground. This spring there will be a lot of them.
-Tom
Great work! Great resourcefulness. CL is great thing if you live in an areas such as you do. I glance at that CL too and lots of opportunity. Here not so much on CL.
Grew up in the PNWet and enjoy seeing your pics of your place.
TB I just thought about this, my brother has been replacing a lot of wood on one of his barns up there. i'll ask him the next time I talk with him what he is doing with it.
Dumb question...How do you know the fence boards you are getting aren't infested with termites or something that may come out when it warms up? I'd like to steal this idea from you for the interior walls of my (hopefully soon-to-be) 2 car detached, but I'm concerned about accidentally ending up with termites or other bugs inside the garage where there used to be none...
Thanks.
Ahh gettin' first dibs probably feels real good.
By the way I am still a little jealous of that drill holder - looks so cool!
The black on the corner trim gives in the perfect modern touch to an otherwise old school look. Great combo.
Paul, wouldn't a little cover over those intakes be a good idea? You wouldn't want anything falling down in there.
Great job on the fence salvage.

. The infamous GM 3.4 intake gasket. The car has 186K on it and I'd like it to last another year. Then I'm gonna get a diesel truck, probably a Cummins. My wife is gonna hate you. She's gonna hate you when I pull up with a truckload of salvaged fence panels and I tell her it was all your idea!
Just finished up 40 pages of posts...you are going to get me in so much trouble! Truly inspired by what you've done, you've given me the kick in the backside I needed to get my garage project started. Don't have the bottomless checking accounts that some here at garage journal have (not knocking them, just envious) but i'm amazed at wht you've been able to do with used/bartered material. Not exactly sure where to start, but hope to have my own thread started here soon.
Looks some uncharted territory back there! Better get cracking. I don't want to feel obligated to call you a slacker again. Don't you have like all week to work on this stuff? (It's my GJ duty to give you a hard time, you know - it's right in my forum sign-up contract)

Seriously, the extinguisher and first aid station are a great detail. Hopefully neither one will be used, but it's nice to know there are handy if you need them.

This is the winter that never stops!! Its all Home Depots fault for putting out the gardening stuff so early....Momma nature doesn't appreciate that so shes taking revenge!

SNOW!? Talk about incentive to get the shop fully insulated (and heated, heh-heh), mother nature is providing you that little extra push to get the shop done. Good for you on getting the new batch of boards prepped for installation during the lull of lousy weather!

Haha. Paul, I feel your pain. It is starting to warm up though, slowly!
Garage remodeling takeover, round II coming up!

TB66, I thought you were going to say you are freeze drying the boards...

Yep nice in Texas, we planted our garden yesterday. Sorry just had to throw that in there.
Great garage, I really like the detail. I think I'm going out to my garage to dig up that old T handle shift knob!
