So my eldest Son is an apprentice Tattooist and is about to end his apprenticeship and go pro.. He asked if I could make him an arm rest to go at the side of his treatment couch or next to a chair.. It needed to be adjustable in height and angle.
I did a little googling and noticed the most popular type were like Camera tripods..
It just so happened that deep in the bowels of my underground storage beneath the house I remembered seeing an old 70's/80's Silk tripod.. heavy made and still good to go..
I stripped off the head and then it was just a matter of making up an adaptor plate and upholstering a pad made from an old shelf in fabric to match his couch.. he even likes the aged look on the paint.... Cost.. Free.. Happy Son... Priceless..
