This wasn’t my repurpose but I seen it at a garage sale and it kind of intrigued me. I bought a wack of stuff so it was likely just thrown on the pile and got a great price. Once I got home I found my Howick motor turned out to be from a coffee grinder. Will include a picture of what it had originally been part of. Probably will clean it up and then see if one of the kids want it.

I'm not sure what it's been repurposed as... some kind of grinding wheel?

I made this for my wife's office, using a old projector that belonged to my grandfather. The film is from the 1930s of the Hoover Dam construction.c61e5569bf0d7575ea429ff46a19e9c7.jpg

Excellent work, Fyrme! Like the old power tool - bench grinder, I think - that someone much earlier in this thread turned into a lamp, I'm amazed that it's still fully functional!

Thanks Hexen. I must disclose that I have to pull the projector lamp out to use it as a table lamp for an extended period. Otherwise it will burn up with the fan turned off.

So my eldest Son is an apprentice Tattooist and is about to end his apprenticeship and go pro.. He asked if I could make him an arm rest to go at the side of his treatment couch or next to a chair.. It needed to be adjustable in height and angle.

I did a little googling and noticed the most popular type were like Camera tripods..

It just so happened that deep in the bowels of my underground storage beneath the house I remembered seeing an old 70's/80's Silk tripod.. heavy made and still good to go..

I stripped off the head and then it was just a matter of making up an adaptor plate and upholstering a pad made from an old shelf in fabric to match his couch.. he even likes the aged look on the paint.... Cost.. Free.. Happy Son... Priceless..

Thanks for the compliments fellas.

I posted this in my shop thread, but I'd say it meets the criteria here. It's a long story of how I came to acquire all of this lumber, but I have been slowly replacing all of the carpet in my house with these repurposed Douglas Fir bleacher boards. I've got one room left to do. KILL ME NOW! :lol_hitti

Great work, Lee Celtic and Fyrme! Especially fine craftsmanship on all those tricky angled stairs!

Thanks again. The stairs took me about 2 weeks to finish. I could only work on them for a couple hours at a time before I was ready to drink a glass of drain cleaner then go jump off the roof of my shop. It was an absolute nightmare. Not one part of the stair case was framed square, therefore not one of the treads could be built square, and every single tread was different.

Great work fyrme!

Old time craftsmanship was great, wasn't it? Actually, they did a good job of making things look great that weren't actually perfect. The skills were used to fit to the imperfect.

Not a massive repurpose but if you take the bottom boards off of pallets and mount them on the wall it makes for pretty good vertical storage.

I think they look like they might have once been the boards that were used to make bleachers maybe in a gym?

Yes. If you look at the stadium pic above, you can see the walkways that are painted maroon. That piece came from one of those boards and was spared the journey through the planer. It was the wife's idea, and I didn't like the idea at first. But it grew on me, and really like it now. Most people don't even notice it, but it's a great conversation piece for those that do notice it.

repurposed Dishwasher flatware basket to handtool storage

I am pretty pleased with this idea.

When we were shopping for a new dishwasher a few years ago Consumer Reports was noting that the on-the-door flatware basket setup (that comes with the newer machines) just didn't get the flatware very clean. So they recommended that we keep the basket from the old machine.

The way the manufacturer intended the basket to ride in the door.

How do I rotate these pictures?

View media item 80926
The basket removed and placed on the open d/w door (notice the legacy d/w basket behind)

View media item 80927
Loaded with several tools and ready to go out to the back yard, etc.

Mounted to the side of workbench using a slide mount arrangement.

Not so pleased with my inability to get my pictures rightside up, though.

Hope this is helpful to someone.
