Raining again, got the step ladder sold. My brother said he would buy the red mini tank (J5), I told him he could have it. Supposed to be selling the F350 dump truck tomorrow, apparently I listed it too cheap as I have 5 people that will buy it if it doesn't sell. I am still sore, didn't get much of anything done today, but the dumpster got emptied and some stuff I ordered from Zoro yesterday afternoon arrived less than 24 hours, and it was freight delivery on a pallet. The driver did a double take when he saw me coming around the corner with Clark, I actually thought he was going to fall off the truck. I told him he probably wouldn't see another one like it, he agreed.

Absolutely nothing wrong with being a happy jerk... and if you never jerk... you are missing out on some fun. Pretty sure I can be an ****** myself... I am a mirror... if you present me with the slightest attitude... My Paterson, NJ comes out...

You did well.

I guess you fixed Clarks tire?...

OH... its beautiful and SUNNY here. Chance of late day drizzle...

Clark's tire was almost too easy. I thought the extension would replace the original schrader valve, but instead it was literally an extended schrader valve. Instead of air going out when I unscrewed it, everything was like the extension had never been there. I put 60 PSI in both front tires and 50 in the rear tires. No more unsightly tire squatting when picking up the front of F350 dump trucks!

Aahhhh, [lightbulb] that must be why I can instantly turn on/off my Dickness. I was born in Denville. I thought I got the ability from my ol man. Now I know I can blame it on NJ. LOL

Sooooo, remember when I said you guys would be proud of me because I didn’t buy a truck? Well, the guy texted me and asked if I was still interested and that no one had showed up to look at it and he was tired of dealing with the BS. I decided to look at it, made a lowball offer, we went back and forth a bit, then came to a price that included delivery to my shop. Why did I do this??? Anyways, hopefully the F350 leaves tomorrow, I will feel much better with a GMC in the yard versus a Ford.

At least the F350 is going, guy paid me, just waiting on his trucker now. I already think I know why the new GMC truck won't start, but I will wait until I get it back here to confirm. It was in pretty decent shape and my buddy that went with me last night would probably buy it from me if I decide not to keep it.

I did it again. I went to an equipment auction and came away with nothing. I did haul some items in my truck for my BIL though, because his was full. I got my fix by proxy.

That works for me, I have always said I just need to become a purchasing agent for a big company and I would hardly spend any of my money after that.

Guy with the other truck said 12:30 to 1:00, I waited, I waited, I waited, now at 3:00 he says he will be ready in an hour or so. I just got back to the shop, I don’t want to turn around and drive back essentially from where I was waiting. I hate this type of stuff.

I was supposed to go to him, I told him I was pissed and didn't have time to do it, Sunday was out due to Mother's Day duty..... I told him maybe sometime next week, honestly I think at this point I will see if my buddy is interested, if not, I will just tell the guy that I can't do it, "my wife won't let me...."

The worst part for him is that he told me what time he would be ready and I was trying to give home money. When someone is giving me money, I try and be very punctual.

Today looks like a decent day, then we get a couple wet days. My back got worse yesterday, due to extra curricular activities, oops. Anyways, going to try and get a bit done at the shop, not sure exactly what I will feel up to, if things are too sore, probably deal with some office stuff.

My back is still pretty bad, office work was all I did. I am supposed to go on a field trip Wednesday, my back is hurting more just thinking about it. I am interested in a few things, some heavier than others. Found a really old arbor press, going to try and make a deal to buy it, will take a bit of effort to get it home, but it should be worth it. Will post pictures when I can, other goodies would be some grinders and buffers. No matter what, my back will be sore the rest of the week. :(

Chiropractor patched me up pretty well, on my way home yesterday, the black burb decided that it should be louder than normal by letting exhaust free flow from the passenger’s side of the crossover pipe. So I had to take the maroon burb on my road trip, my back protested about the thought of driving most of the day in that crappy seat, so I pulled out the seat and swapped in a nice captains chair style. Had to drill a couple holes since the old seat was a 60/40 split and mounted on the transmission tunnel. Got that done and home by 10pm, sorry no pictures. :(

Today I headed to Massachusetts to buy a grinder, then to Rhode Island to buy another one. After that I headed back to Massachusetts to look at the big arbor press. I am buying it, left a deposit, hopefully picking it up this weekend. I did get a couple pictures of that.

It is a Greenerd No 5 (12 ton) and has a patent date of Dec 1, 1891. I am sure there will be some date somewhere, but it was tucked in a mess. I couldn’t find any breaks, cracks, or repairs to it, the handle was bent a bit, but not a big deal.

You have a dirty mind.

;)

I have been told... well... you can imagine. Too bad I didn't keep all the pictures.

Dude... OMG I so needed that Arbor Press today. Threaded nut insert... pressed into a 1/2" pipe end... needed to remove it and cut the pipe then reinsert the nut insert. I ended up using my small 1 ton to get the donor nut out but the end result was 2 feet long and my 1 ton has a ****** reach. I need to remount it so I could access the floor to table top length...

I am going to use my Dad’s F550 with the boom. I still need to get it out of the garage that it is in. I know it weighs less than 2000 pounds, just not sure how much less.

Well I've reached the end of the story, took me about a week.

The shop is much more usable than at the beginning, congratulations.

You know, I typed out a long diatribe worthy of the resident curmudgeon on this thread, thought about it, then hit delete.

I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors Strouty.

U should have stopped by when in RI!
Nice press, got a 12 ton dake and a 3b greenard that looks like the little brother to your 5.
Love them both. U will love that 12, table and depth along with height make big projects simple

Thanks for taking the time to read it Nuts, probably saw the repeating scenarios, diatribes and curmudgeons are fine, heck sometimes they make the most difference to me. I still have a long ways to go, it seems to be two steps forward, one step back, but slowly things are getting better.

Office duty today and tomorrow, I think I am going to try and get the arbor press on Sunday, that gives me Saturday to gather my supplies.

I am going to restore everything someday, just not this someday. I would like to clean it up and paint it, but even that will be down the road a bit. I figure once I get the shop under control, I will start my restorations.
