I haven't read all replies so don't know if these have been posted yet.

With all the love of Pliers wrench and to a lesser degree the Cobra pliers, I present the smallest of those models.

Here are some of my tiny tools. A Prentiss table clamp vise. The jaws are 1 3/4" wide. A 4" pair of vise grips and a 4" pair of C clamp vise grips. And finally close to 60 different 4" adjustable wrenches. Most are USA made. About 5 or 6 are German, French and one Japanese that are quality made.

Jpickar. You share the same love i have for 4" adjustables. When ever i see one i grabe it. Got a small collection now. They come in handy for small stuff. I got a bunch of smalls. Ill post pics on monday.

How about my hand vise? Here it is compared to a 4" wrench.

Some of my small vises. The "special machine and engineering" on the right has 1" jaws. The smallest brass in the center front has less than 1/2" jaws- probably 10mm.

You collect a lot of very small tools when watch and clockmaking become a hobby.

I kept running into these small vises in the last week so of course I bought them. The biggest one has 2 1/4 inch jaws and the smallest one has 1 inch jaws. Only the blue one admits to being a toy. In fact, the red one was mounted to a bench when I spotted it. Total cost of $7.

I added a few to the collection yesterday, but only found them today as I was going through an old wood machinist box I picked up yesterday:


The "Big dog" is a #1-72 threading die on the lower right. on the opposite side are two 0-80 dies of different styles, then there are two 00-90 dies. The tapered ream under the dime is an M-4/0, That little thing below it is a tap even smaller that the 00-90!. last are three tiny drill bits.

I'm late to the party, but here's some of my tiny tools.

First is a toolmaker's vise that I made- 1X1X2 inches.



Then, a 3/4" Kant-Twist clamp. I have two of every size they make.



A vintage 0-1/2" Brown and Sharpe micrometer:



A set of small gage blocks, starting at .010". Stupid expensive retail, I got them for $35 at a tool auction.



Gotta have small cutters, too. A .010" diameter end mill:

Not sure if I posted it before in this thread, a Starrett #223RL paper gage micrometer, 0-.35", in original box. I always liked the finger ring but it wasn't too popular.

Outlaw: 1st, wow and thanks. The knowledge on this board still amazes me. The jaws are 1-3/4" wide. Are these special purpose vises?

Not that I'm aware of. The size is right for jewelers, watchmakers and hobbyists with small needs. That one is slightly larger than my small one (1-1/2" jaws). That one is marked H&B.

Thanks Outlaw, I like oddball mics. I had a B&S equivalent to that Starrett, except it went to a full half inch and didn't have a finger ring. In original wood box. But some guy needed it more than I did.

The anvil wobbles on these, to allow measuring of irregular thicknesses. Anvil and spindle are about 1/4" around.

Some might not meet a strict definition of tools, since they are advertising giveaways, but they are a form of tool, and they are small.

First the real tools:

The 1/8" SO ignition wrench is the smallest of a full set I have, but I figured only show the smallest. The rest are just odds & ends that have found their way into my tool box over the years.

Hard to tell with the glare, but that is a quarter.

Those must be considered too dangerous (or too politically incorrect) to give out now. I haven't seen a new one in years.

Same here, and I have no idea where I got it. I have never been a farmer, and I think that brand is only marketed to the ag industry.

Here is a recent post of the "World's Most Compact 1/4" Ratchet". There are shorter ratchets out there but this one is only 3-1/2" long and small in all other dimensions making it light and a useful close-quarters tool.

I forgot this one. A little drill chuck. Really a pin vise, 'cause the jaws are just split like a collet. I have never used it in the drill press, it is just there for size reference to the 5/8" chuck.

That is a #60 bit, you have to spread the jaws a little to get the bit in.
