I'll take better pics tomorrow but their stamped USA under the logo if I recall correctly. Thanks for the info. Also have an "extra" arrowhead socket that doesn't belong. There was an old Bonney socket in there as well.

NC must have had a damn good jobber/sales rep. I've seen some really nice Blackhawk pieces come out of NC. Awesome snag! That set has eluded me thus far..........

Back to back with the stuffed Long C Craftsman stack, you are inching up on Scorching Hot Streak status, JoCo! :) I forget if the Crafty find was estate sale or CL, but I consider them both "the wild", so congrats.

Beautiful jack, 930dreamer! I 'dream' of finding one some day, too!

I picked up this 49977 WWII-era pressed steel ratchet yesterday.97924956841cb26b413fa96e3526b8d7.jpg60aecec53a9817da3c48f03fe6d533c7.jpg9e7272d696a1947e4479ffcdf2e4adc5.jpg4afb99d3f99f26bdc5f08dde055e16f8.jpg

Don, that's an incredible score. Amazing that Porto Power could spend a whole year for sale at that price.
I promise you I'd have ran my Raptor over Horse's Dodge to get to that one before him if it was listed around here for that price.....

LOL!!! Right back at ya!

I often wonder if one day I'm going to race to a Blackhawk torpedo ad on Craigslist only to find Twertsy there forking over 20 dollar bills.

No new posts on the Blackhawk thread for nine (9) days is just unacceptable!

Found a couple of sockets today at the flea market. Abused 12-point two-row Lock-On (13/16") and Early 6-point Indianhead (5/8"). (Ignore the bookending "-D-I-" and lathe project sockets!)

Did not think I would get it. No other bids! I guess if it's not in a bomb box no one gets that excited.

Yes I agree on reserve auctions, but it was cool enough I figured I would go the opening bid.

I'm insanely jealous of the original finish on CRTDIs torpedo box. Mine was spray bombed and sans decals when I got it. While stripping it down this AM I noticed some writing stamped into the hasp. Sorry I can't provide a better pic but..only a phone camera here. I took it in to the wife's sewing room and looked at it under a lighted magnifying glass. It reads LANGENAU (or possibly LANSENAU) curved over a diamond and CLEVELAND curved under the diamond. Nothing inside the diamond that I can tell. Does this help anyone determine who made these boxes for Blackhawk?

It's Langenau. They are still in business, outlasting many of the toolmakers they were making toolboxes for. Here is a link to my Packer Auto "RAY" socket set thread. Langenau made their boxes as well. If you scroll down you will see a photo of the same clasp.
