Post count. Why is it that some have big post counts with little to say and others have small post counts with a lot to say?:dunno: I figure if you took away all my worthless posts, I'd have about a dozen on the score card. And this one adds to the worthless ones. #7361 and counting.:3gears::spit:

Some of us just like to look in the mirror. I try to avoid them. However, people have been telling me to save my breath since I learned how to talk. Go figure? :lol_hitti

There's a t-shirt I want. It says, "I'm not totally useless. I can always be used as a bad example.":twisted: I think that fits decently, here.

I try to only make meaningful, useful posts.

And I thought post count was how many you had per mile on your fence lines. I get about 530/mile for a really good fence. Of course a really good fence can sell you your own stuff back and make you feel like you got a bargain.

We'll maybe I can share a recent failure. A month ago a customer came into the shop with a coolant leak (GM 6.0L), turned out to be coming from the left head........Head removal shows gasket failure. Cleaned, and checked head for visible damage and warpage, found nothing. Reassembled and all seemed fine. Monday the customer calls and says it's leaking worse than ever. I bring it into the shop and whoa it's pouring out of the same area as it was before. I guess I should have sent the head out to be magnafluxed. Apparently there's a crack that was not detected. Chalk this one up for "what I SHOULD have done."

Dan, that reminds me of the head on a 302 I had w while back. Could never find the coolant leak but could always smell it. Well I finaly just replaced engine ( dad had a 302 out of a mustang with roller lifters).
After we pulled engine, I found cracks on the head near the exhaust iirc .

Reminds me of the definition of a true friend. One who goes to town to get a head job so he gets two and comes back and gives you one.

I have no true friends, and take my own heads in to have them reconditioned.

And what is a meaningful post, anyway?

In college I let a 327 freeze. The block pushed out right under the deck. Pushed out the thickness of the casting. A little JB Weld pushed in the crack held it for the next two years I drove it. Of course all my engines had Bars-Leaks in the radiators due to rotten radiators.

Thanks for your input guys. The owners decided that they want a GM crate engine installed instead of trying to fix that one.

GB, I'm loving it, it's a great little truck.

So we're in the process of the new engine swap. This little guy is in the heavy weight division. I was told she weighed in at 580 lbs.(according to Bill..bzy)

Darn, wish I knew you were in to swapping (engines). I'd had my swap lined up for you to do when you come to get WOC. then it would be a business trip. :D

Oh sure... I finally get a chance to check in on Dan and he has gone awol...? Working? Pictures of Work? Really? Where are your priorities? How can we live vicariously through you if you are not here 24/7 to entertain us... I hope GB is right that you are on the road picking up the WoC because that could be an interesting road trip story!

Rod, the WOC is to be delivered here within a couple of weeks. I have thoughts as to where they with go but nothing concrete yet.

Bobby, there's no way I'm letting my wife call you. I'd probably be in the dog house from the tales you'd tell her.:lol:

Shorty, I'll get another picture up of the Olds. I finally got the front seat all back together and back bolted in where it belongs. Now I'm going to try and fake my way through getting the top put on.

Andy, it was. I guess it weighed close to six hundred pounds. The shop crane felt it. The only one I've ever replaced that was heavier was a ford 460. That was a beast. I have no other pictures of the swap, sorry.

Billy, she's a work in progress. I'll see what I can do. And sorry I didn't get back to you when I picked up the gift you sent me.( apparently lacking in some manners) Thank you very much. They will be well taken care of and now I need to make a place to display what I have along with the ones you sent me.

Duker, WOC is being picked up this week and now I've got another project that needs my attention. Pictures of all will definitely follow soon.
