Dan, just go buy some tools to fill the cubic acres of space you have.
Take the handles out of the drawers and put on the boxes, let's face it, how happy would we be if our body parts were removed and stuffed inside us?
As far as them moving, I think it's just residual movement left in them, they are use to being moved around weekly, now there confused. I'd recommend just getting a couple beers, sit in front of them, let them get used to seeing you and console them that your not moving around weekly.

Dan, The WOC have never done boldly harm to its caretaker but there are ways to keep the spirits happy.
You must add at least one "new" cabinet to the WOC per year. It doesn't matter if there's room or not.
The WOC needs to be the main focal point of your garage. It doesn't like playing second fiddle to nothing.
The WOC doesn't like having other cabinets mixed in so don't have any other brand cabinets added in.
Never leave the shop without closing up the cabinets at night.
Strange things happen when you do.
The most important is you the "caretaker" must be only one to move or handle any of the cabinets. Bad things happen when someone else tries to be foolish. Just ask Craig and Shorty what happen last time they tried.
Follow these rules and things should be ok. I'm hoping....

The WOC didn't like to be touch by anybody but the caretaker I did this for your guys safety. Remember what happened when you tried to move them?

Very happy to hear how much you guys are all enjoying the nightmare that has taken over my life. I doubt it'll be too long before something happens to me.
This morning when I opened the shop this is what I came into.
Yesterday I had put some of my Snap On wrenches in one of the WOC boxes from Florida. You can see that apparently the box did not want them in it. Over night it puked
them out all over the floor. I didn't think that they were only going to allow Craftsman tools to be put in them.
I'll try some Blackhawk tools in one of them later today and see what they think about them.

Every once in a while... when I go into my garage in the morning... I also find things puked on the floor... even into other drawers in my 1/5 WOC...
The only difference: Yours was snap-on puke... mine is always... garage CAT puke.
Did that drawer have an appropriate drawer liner?....
I find if I give my cats treats at night... they are less likely to puke in the night...

I believe Craig mentioned above how to minimize these types of instances. You have to spend at least 1 hour a day staring, massaging the WOC. I think the real problem is the WOC wants a fresh coat of paint.

You are starting to worry me Dan. You probably don't know that I have a cabinet that was part of the WOC before it became a wall. Gerard and I traded cabinets early on. Mine has never puked! ! What it does is eat. And it only eats Craftsman wrenches. Several that were placed carefully in the drawer have just disappeared. Maybe that's the "real" reason Gerard swapped.

Wonder if they could have caused a random roller rolling or a drawer opening... or they even may be under mind control and are screwing with the WOC to ensure said WOC gets what it needs... a human sacrifice.

Then I saw a photo on Terrick's thread "Aussie Earthshelter and Garage" and I think I know where he went to get away from the WOC -- half way round the world. Dan, is that you hiding in plain sight?

Tell the demonized boxes that you'll take them for a ride to the scrap yard so they can see thier vintage counterparts of lathes, drill presses, old machinery, etc that lives in these graveyards. Maybe they'll realize how good they have it.
Just like any change of diet, you may need to slowly introduce the rich diets of SO tools, specially considering where they came from.

After reading all the comments and seeing the pictures it would appear that labeling the drawers would not do. You need to buy a bunch of the discs (Trackr.com) that they have developed that allow you to locate lost items. Put one in each drawer. Build a spreadsheet that will allow you to activate the correct disc for the tool you need. You may have to ask for a revision of the app for your smartphone since I am not sure that they will normally handle that many items.
If the spreadsheet does not drive you crazy then Christine WOC will when the discs all sound out as you arrive in the morning or as she rearranges the discs at night.
But the good thing is if they leave the building you will be able to find them.
Looks great, waiting to see how the rearrangement(s) unfold.

Dan, I don't know what you did but you pissed off the wall. She is never spit tools out on the floor on me. Any good caretaker of the WOC should know what tool is in what drawer. Maybe, she doesn't like that you put labels on her? Did you let another person come in there and lay hands on her? Whatever you did she's not happy. LOL

I finally got caught back up on your thread. We can't leave you alone for a minute, can we Dan.
Nope Kirk, I can't be trusted to do the right thing.
As is quite on the WOC front. Maybe they just needed to settle down in their new environment.
One of the weeks projects was rebuilding a 46RE transmission out of a Dodge 1500 4x4.
One problem was this broken snap ring ( I'm pointing to it with the pick). It's in the direct overdrive clutches.
The other issue it had was the reverse band had burned up. ( No photo, sorry)
Also a couple of new plates (that Lyndon sent to me, Thank You Lyndon) have found their way to the WOF.
Well thanks for stopping by guys. I've got to try and make up some time getting caught up on some other threads. Have a great weekend.
