I've noticed that too Craptain, from what I can ascertain, I think we have a similar climate, etc. to Florida - so it makes sense.
We've had the "Sunshine State" plates here for many decades now (and we still have them now), but a few years ago the politicians decided to give us a second option "The Smart State" (to promote the "technology industry boom" at the time) - there were a few getting around, but it never really caught on.

Just a quick update. I had a few minutes yesterday to get one of the backs attached to the bench. And the cover on the other side so maybe I'll have the front seat back in the old girl before too long.
Today we are going to change out a sub frame on a Ford Taurus.
The rest of the car really isn't that bad. The owner thinks it's worth it. They're looking to just get another year or two out of it.

That does look a tad roached Dan. Is it a big job to take it out?
We have a engine bar that holds the motor and transmission in place. So not as bad as having to remove the whole thing. Last one Rick and I did took us about six hours. Always some unforeseen problems arise. i.e. broken sway bar links, bad ball joint, that sort of thing.

Seriously, those engine bars are so useful for lots of jobs. I use mine to hold the complete front clip off my Nomad steady when putting it on and off by myself.

It's not a tool that gets used often, but when it's needed, there's nothing better. It's very versatile as you just mentioned.

The Olds seat is looking good Dan, I can't say the same about the Taurus.

Those seats are coming along great! That subframe is nasty... I'm glad stuff generally doesn't rust like that here in Aus (not on something that new anyway!).

Thanks GB. I preferred the Tacoma over the Tundra. They both are great trucks. Just the choice I made.
Terrick, that old 82 chevy has a long history with me. If it wasn't for it being all rusted out, I would have considered bringing it back to a driver. But it suits me more to have it as a plow truck. Maybe someday I'll tell the story of "How much the previous owner paid me to take that truck"

Very nice Dan, although if it wasn't for the Toyota emblem on the grill I would not have a clue as to what It was.
(I could be wrong, but I don't think that Toyota sell those here).
I did however, recognize the '80s Chevy hiding in the bushes.

I stand corrected T Apparently it's universal slurring.
The lift is on it's way, should be landing here within the next two hours. (If they don't get lost) Pictures to follow next week.
It's about 90*F and humidity is about 80%. I hope it cools off a little for tomorrow. If not, it won't be much fun drilling 10 holes through the concrete.

Damn, I hope I get my lift operational before you because my FC brothers will paint and feather me if I keep procrastinating.
May I suggest that you take your new ride on a long distance shake down test ride so you can ensure the truck is comfortable before taking the Mrs. on a trip. Point the truck south and we'll see you at Gerard's on the 5th.
