Re: 1970 F250 Ranger Project R-S 2014
Nice work, that will be a nice truck when you are done. For the rust removal is that with evaporust or your magic soap solution. Such as the bellhousing and the small suspension parts.
Almost everything gets a touch of Magic Soap then from there it depends on what it is. If it is cast iron and has surface rust of any kind it goes into the Evapo-Rust, if small parts like nuts and bolts, small hardware that has any kind of grease or dirt it goes into the agitator (air operated) with carb~parts cleaner. The E-R is also a very great cleaner but of course quite expensive.
I like to eliminate as much elbow grease as I can because after so many years do not have much left in me . . .
This is coming out really nice. Great attention to detail! All this talk about Magic Soap, please give us the formulation! I have been dying to find a deageaser/soap that actually works.
I do plan on doing that but as I mentioned before it really depends on what a person is cleaning as to how its mixed. There are 4 diff components that I use in mixing but never more than 2 are mixed together. Am I cleaning aluminum, leather, cloth interior, grease n grime, plastic, chrome etc. The best mix that cleans about everything is not friendly with polished aluminum.
Not all of What goes into the mix cannot be shipped UPS or FedEx or the USPS.
Same question. You are doing great work! Are you a Ford truck expert?
I mean do you just love the old F series and focus on those for your work?
What did you spray those pulleys and other parts with? It looks beautiful.
I have worked on a few Ford's yeah. About any Ford or Mercury product from late 20's thru current. Chevy, Dodge, Chrysler, BMW, JAG, Porsche and everything in between. My preference is 1928~1971. Anything after 1971 unless its a Ford truck or car not much interest.
I have not so much as mentioned this car as wanted to do a "build" on it but seeing as though someone asked and its sitting in corner of shop . . .LOL
1956 Belair that was a frame off, body on a rotisserie type resto-mod. I painted it 15yrs ago for a friend who has owned it 27yrs now and has never driven it down the road! He is in his 70's now and unable to complete on his own. We both moved out of state etc. His "Dream Car" as had one many moons ago. Now that I have spilled the beans . .
Looks great! Your work is always impressive. Good to see you back on here with a project.
