Nice haul!

Sometimes Ebay got some pretty good and unused stuff. But a 'new' from a seller isn't always a 'new'. The last sellers fooled me a little bit, most items were used, not much but used. Don't like used used tools. only like unused used tools .

Got that plier cheap from Ebay. I wanted a Friedrich plier and got a Orbis plier, seller mismatched them and couldn't replace them.

Today was a big flea market at a parking lot of a supplier store. I thought i could risk a little look and maybe grab a tool or two. But i underestimated the other people. The street to the parking lot was full of cars and people. Didn't even get a chance to park my car. Even the police was there.

Hrmm, I'd have to wear a full face shield before operating that with a hammer. I've received a shard of paint chip from striking the **** end of a painted cold chisel. It left a cut on my cheek....and I was dumb for not wearing any eye protection either.

Wow, interesting.

My workplace happens to have the HIT bolt cutters--3 sizes. I had to use one yesterday, and although the smallest one would have sufficed, I grabbed the largest one just for the heck of it. It was a joy to use.

Are you sure it was paint and not a metal piece from the burr ?
I never had problems with either the plated ones (PB (ok only have 1 center punch )) or powder coated (red PB) nor the dipped painted ones (Rennsteig etc.). The paint just wears off. Which brand do you use ?

@Monte Its a cylinder rotary file. I seen a lot of Wolfcraft bits at the store that looks like stuff you would use on a dremel but made for a drill. Since the price is so cheap on these I'll be picking more up over the next few month and I'll put up pics. Also of interest its marked GERM and part of an A and N is is there but very faintly. lol

I was use it to dismantle some large pallets. I have a crow bar, but this guy made the job easier and cleaner. Being a chisel it cut right through nails (by accident) and the location of the handle is ideally situated too.

100 mm is the standard in angle grinders here. Consumables are readily available even at small hardware stores and malls.

As for Ryobi I have not seen any that is Made in Japan. As with most brand name power tools these are usually Made in PRC already.

Same here, every ones I've seen were made in PRC, I have a small Ryobi 12V cordless drill made in China and it's been faultless so far.

Maybe the Japanese Ryobi is only sold in Japan. They also have "Toshiba" power tools there.


I always wondered if its not better to use a 115mm or even 125mm grinder since the cutting depth is larger. Also you can use 125mm + 115 mm discs on a 125mm grinder, 100mm is limited to 100mm ( iirc center hole is 10 and/or 16mm instead of 22,23mm ?). And discs mostly have not a big price difference.


I have carbide burrs from www.pferd.com and "Format" (rebranded Pferd).
I only have these so i can´t tell you if others are better/worse.

Die grinders are amazing tools, never thought that i will use it much until i bought one.

WISE "pierce-ball" hex wrenches. The unique thing about these is the 15* offset positioning of the hex. This equates to a 30* operating range as opposed to a 60* range found in conventional hex keys. The bottom of the ball-point is ground flat, more so than the Asahi shown above.

What is the height (in millimeters) for each of the 3 Wise ball hex drivers?

For the Anex 6103F low profile, standard hex drivers, the height of the 2.5mm and 4mm pieces is 10mm.

For the Bondhus low profile, standard hex (short arm end) and ball hex (long arm end) combo drivers, the heights of the 2.5mm, 4mm, and 6mm short arm ends are the following: 7mm, 9mm, and 12mm. The model numbers for the Bondhus stubby balldriver sets (1.5mm - 10mm) are 16599 (long) and 16799 (extra long).

Actually I was going to ask you about Ruko, do you know if they're any good?

I'd like to buy a decent 1-13 mm drill bit set and as Ruko's fit my budget I wondered about their quality?

Would someone know if titanium coated drill bit worth the (large) extra money (from a good quality manufacturer)? I admit that titanium nitride is really hard, but I guess that as any drill bit they need to be re-sharpened causing the coating to wear and finally you just have a "normal" HSS drill bit?

I was thinking that HSS-G + Cobalt was more reasonable because less expensive that Ti coated but more stable at higher temperature than normal HSS so more time between re-sharpening, does it make sense?

Painted tools are often seen here to denote which tool belongs in which tool box, the owner is the employer anyway. I like the painted wrenches somehow, somewhere here and also in a japanese tool magazine i saw snap-on wrenches where the inscription was filled with red paint and i think Elroy used yellow paint (?). I liked it.

I ordered some things from TBS-aachen. Amongst other things, this:

6-20+22mm sizes.

I am a bit disappointed at the finish of the 14-15 wrench. Finish quality is a bit uneven overall, nothing compared to the japanese that superautobacs posted.

Will post some of the other stuff later.

Yeah, the finish is uneven on some of them. Yep, no germany, just DIN895 and sizes on the back.
