Its just a 12v drill and old NimH technology. Although the battery is not fully dead and its quite powerful for that voltage I want to replace it with some good quality bosch 18v stuff.

i think a good replacement for the old 12 volt nicd/nimh stuff is 10,8 volt li-ion...but you already have it But to own 10,8 volt and 18 Volt is a good combination i think.

Yeah I wasn't really expecting them to be German for £16, but they appear to be of nice quality anyhow.

Because the people posting them here only buy the EU made tools
There are plenty of Stanley tools sold here which are from China, Taiwan, Thailand and even Vietnam (sledge hammer). Very few "Made in England" and "Fabrication Francaise" are left (some knives, blades, tape measures and saws mainly). Some measuring tools are from England too and i saw nail irons "made in italy".

But there are plenty "Made in USA" tools from Stanley (if this websites is correct):

Some of them are made in Germany. The bits for e.x or the torque wrenches or the swivel head handle with 1/4 drive. And of course these are the most pricey in the catalog.

I only abuse them and still hold very well, only the clip broke. Very nice for a 0.5 or 0.7 Euro tool.
Those Germans guys!!! They don't leave anything on luck. Especially when it's marked with "Germamy" as SOO.

A small Sam screwdriver from France, never seen much of the brand.

Picked up this Jacob cross-slide vice for € 5.00 - made in Taiwan, it came in a Perel branded box. The seller bought it some 15 years ago for 1976 Belgian Francs, or just short of € 50.00. Price tag was still on the box which he never even opened.
Will go nicely with the Delta DP220 I picked up for a score last week.

Finally a tool I hope not to use during the coming months, a Adlus snow shovel. Made - or at least assembled in Germany. Got it for free as the company I work for makes the Aluminium tube used in the handle, just like the ones in the Fiskars cutters posted by Phobo here.

The pictures are mine but the tools aren't. I bought them for a friend that needed a decent set for home use.
The only things that I have from carolus are 3 universal joints, 1/4 t-handle, 1/4 ratchet adapter and 5/16 bit adapter. I think that they are very nice tools for that price. I don't know how they stand in every day use but with that price you can't go wrong.

Somewhere in here you can find more photos from socket sets, ratchets and wrenches. I'll try to find them so not post them again.

Edit.. I' very satisfied from what i have from carolus so far.
