Not all Gedore sold in South Africa is made in South Africa (even if the tag has the local website on it).

I bet you're right, especially because these C30 sockets have no COO stamping. I only assumed SA origins because of website.

2oolhound posted pics of his South African sockets (with SA stampings) and they appear to be high quality, and I trust his review stating so. I wonder where these C30 are made then, if not in SA.

Here are a few pics, first pic is pair of German sockets on the left; you'll notice how defined the stampings are and uniform finish. Unknown COO sockets on the right; knurling is not uniform, stampings seem really weak on the smaller socket, finish not uniform.

No COO. The one on the right you can see the weak stamping and finish not uniform. Also, socket in the center has knurling that is on par with German made sockets, the others have varying degrees of knurling. Not all, but there are a couple sockets like that in this set.

The Gladiator Mini doesn´t have a bracket, but the housing has different angles so you get different lighting angles if you lay the light on the side for example.

Thanks Monte :rocker:

So I'm guessing the Osram you have is only a rebranded version of the 24w Sonlux Gladiator Mini.

I would be tempted to choose the LED version over the fluorescent tube but the Sonlux specs give a 5000K for the LED version over a 4000K color for the fluo version tube.
I don't really want to go for a too cold light.

Thanks again for you amazing help

The Kress chucks/adaptors are driven by small balls which engage on the outside of the spindle of the power tool while Metabo chucks are driven by a hex inside of the chuck which engages directly into the spindle. So it won´t work.

Unfortunately neither 12V nor made in the old world.
coo was almost clear :D
but it looks good on the pic  The plastic/rubber fitment looks good :) Festool like :) And the color combination reminds me of the new Mafell drills :)

Yup, those C30 sockets definitely look dodgy. I had a good look at my socket set this weekend. Stampings and knurling are perfect, and the finish is dull (similar to the German sockets in your images). The C30 sockets seems to have a slight brightness to the finish.

I always wonder how the american brands came to the conclusion to name their tools 12V, its not possible to make 12V lithium tools. you can have 3.6V (3.7V), 7.2, 10.8, 14.4 or 18V also 36V but they will be never ever a true 12V tool. All 12V Dewalt tools are sold as 10.8V tools in Europe as well as Makita, Bosch ... :headscrat

Btw. badass wrenches, what type of a machine you work on there?

Interesting, how does that work? Is it so you can add additional torque from the attachment? Would you post a photo of it being used please? Thanks, :)

Needed a new Dremel, so the Price was too good to pass.

That looks really nice, how is it? I have a few Bosch 10.8v tools and love them.

I made my own bracket/holder....:

Fantastic work, Monte! Your fabrication skills always amaze me, i remember you making a battery charger holder from sheet metal and it was perfect!

Are those hole saws for hand tool use? Looks like they have WIDIA tips. What material do you cut with those?
yes you can use these with hand held tools. It is important to hold the drill firm and straight so the hole saw don´t start to vibrate and rattle because the carbide teeth don´t like that. I would recommend these hole saws for stationary use and if you need an hole with exact dimensions. Regular Bi-Metal hole saws have only an accuracy of 0 to +1.5mm.

Thanks :) but my angle grinder and MIG welder did most of the work ;)

Mahle Airfix. Bought it used, leaking, worn in 2013... Like most quality tools you can buy every spare part. So i bought new clips, buttons, a few couplings, feet, rubber seals, fill-valve, hose etc ($$$ though!). Painted the tank with Brantho Korrux, cleaned everything. In this pic still sporting the old hose, test first.

Maybe a new cover in due time, this one shows its age and is worn through.

Other tool I just got:

Atlas Copco LSV38.. 1.7 Hp 125mm angle grinder. Made in Sweden. Auto balancing with some kind of damping system, spindle lock, guard quick adjust, very lightweight. Like all tools I used from them ergonomics and safety are very good.

Only need a bigger compressor to make full use of it!

My favorite brand for screwdrivers! We bought a few sets of those at work and in 3 years only 1 small screwdriver was worn because it was used as a chisel.

I have the Classic style and have been very happy with them. Good value/$ too.

I have had that Wera 1/4" metal ratchet set in my Amazon basket for months and still haven't pulled the trigger on it.

I already have a set from Beta, but I love 1/4" ratchet sets.
