Hi Guys,

Here is my recent German acquisition:

Knipex 10" Pliers Wrench with 15 Degree Handles (Made in Germany)

I purchased this Knipex pliers from HomeDepot.com on Cyber Monday for about $64 shipped to my local Home Depot. Here are some pictures:

Finally! French made Stanley FatMax pliers are already in Ukraine. At the moment it's just needle-nose pliers, but I hope it will be more to come



The pliers are very well made, with comfortable and pleasant to touch two-component handles. High quality forged chrome steel, lacquered finish to resist corrosion, attractive design, good ergonomics. Stanley logo and FatMax inscription on the handles are embossed. AFAIK the new line of FatMax pliers is made by Bost. I know about this brand (anyhow, I'm selling a lot of FatMax screwdrivers ), but I never dealt with Bost branded tools. However, I would very much like to... But I did not receive any response from their export department

Well, the old Taiwanese FatMax pliers looks okay too. At least until you see French made ones They also have good ergonomics, but the quality of the finish and handles is somewhat poorer.



Now check them lying together.



And last but not least, price level remained the same as Taiwan made pliers. So France is indisputable winner

Speaking of French made professional grade power tools, I immediately start thinking of SPIT. They declare that 95% of their products are made in Europe. SPIT has production facilities in France, Italy, Germany and Belgium.

Here in Ukraine we had a company that tried to sell SPIT tools. Alas, this attempt was unsuccessful due to the high price level. Only SPIT nailers remained on the Ukrainian market, but not drills, not rotary hammers, not angle grinders, etc.

Not a direct comparison, but my older (2+years) 10.8V versions of that light are silent in operation.

Mine is silent.

Along with similar responses in the Bosch thread it seems that I have a defective unit as all others seem to be silent.
Bosch are going to collect the item apparently, so we'll see what they think.

Hazet head lamp looks quite the same as led lenser. Led lenser used to be good, i don’t know what is the quality these days. Pezl is another good one.

As far as I can trust the Elora catalogue, they mark their double ring wrenches as "W.-Germany", "Germany" or just "Chrom Vanadium". Sometimes they just mark the size, and nothing more.

Thanks for the info. The older elora wrenches and sockets that i own, is real good(maybe just a little bit under hazet and stahlwille for what comes to chromes quality or thickness) but overall real durable stuff.

Well, I'm not really into SPIT. I sell mostly DeWalt and Bosch power tools, Stanley sometimes Anyhow, SPIT nailers that I saw were made in France.

Depends on what you want to use it on, you use the bits at the end for internal threads, but it wont fit in small diameter holes and the middle part for external threads

Hmmm... in regards to your scissors inquiry, depends on application.

I prefer PAUL (DE) and KAI (JP) for handicrafts like cutting paper. OLFA (JP) always felt a tad flimsy in my hands.

My Aunt, who I bought most of the scissors for, really likes the Paul scissors.

For Kitchen use I really like the Premax (IT) style. My house in Taiwan has a few pairs, and I wish I brought one with me instead of my Fiskars orange.

Perhaps check out Whiteley as well. they are made in UK but I have no idea if the quality has stayed the same.

Hello, I have the same Hazet Nr 240a set which now I know it is from 1928-1933. Do you know what is worth? I am only missing the 12mm socket. Everything else is complete. Case is gold rusted. Rachet and other sockets are in good working condition.

You might consider buying one from a company that specialises in flashlights.

I have been quite impressed by the performance and build quality of lights from Nitecore. They have a wide range of headlamps, but one with a similar external alkaline battery pack and price is the HA40. $60 amazon.com, €68 amazon.de.

I’m looking for a short 1/2 inch impact sockets. I have hazet 900sk 13,17,19 and 21mm and thats all the sizes they made as far as I know. Would be nice to have all the sizes from 10-20mm...Anyone know if there is european manifacturer that makes them or japanese? Standard short impact sockets are around 38mm long and the hazet 900sk are 29mm long...sometimes the 9-10mm makes a difference... I’ve noticed that nowdays if the deep impact socket doesn’t fit i always use the 900sk instead of the regular one....

I know these don't meet the request of origin of manufacturer, but it is a nice set in a foam tray that meets your other specifications of 28mm long....
