Yes that`s why i prefer stamped markings. Or both stamped and etched like some craftsman sockets would be an idea. But solely like this, no:

792-1.jpg

I also painted the size stampings of my metric impact sockets with white paint so you can read it easier. But don`t hold up long though. I wonder how long the printed (?) ko-ken markings will last.

mjki12.jpg

No the SO ratchet pic is from this forum. I just saved it in case it could be helpful to post it somewhen like now :)
We have a SO dealer here, but not everybody in germany. Here`s the german snap-on map. They seem to be strong in eastern germany, the former GDR. But lot`s of blank spots in western germany.

Some Torx stuff. Stahlwille Torx L-keys and Hazet Torx wrenches

Here are a few locking pliers on photo 1; sam, facom 500, facom511 the sam is quite comfortable to use but the rivets look really awful on the strained side.The two valve adjustment wrenches are from gedore.

photo2 shows a like new facom 3/4 set with all the metric weird sizes (35 38 42 52...)

photo 3 shows a czechoslovakian 3/4 socket that says " chrom tona vanadium made in czechoslovakia", although it's a bit old (pre 1992) it has the release button (see photo 4). If someone knows more about them don't hesitate to say it.

If someone has some questions about SAM tools I am willing to help.

Maxipouce, interesting to see a Czechoslovakian-era socket. Hold on to it; it may be a collectors item. :D

Is there something wrong with the square drive-end of the T-handle and the smaller extension?

I just did not want to wear it the one time I used it because I may sell it later :pimpflash, what you see is just masking tape to protect the surface, as I mostly use these on agricultural machinery I would prefer some used or ugly items.

Tona still exists;

The Blue Point Grip-Ons in "blue" seem to be almost another shade from the NAPA stuff I've seen pictured here, and def. different from the "Code Blue" blue of Channel Lock.

But I'll take a pic and let you guys see. I could be wrong. They are stamped with the Blue Point logo, so I do know it wasn't simply a matter of my SO driver getting the wrong thing at the distributor.

I do like the new blue though.

SO have light and dark grey. And Blue Point seems to have red (for welding GripOn and sheetmetal pliers) and now this blue for the c-clamp style Grip-On.

These are selling pretty well on the SO truck around here and are priced pretty decently as well.

@maxipouce:
nice locking pliers !! Does the SAM pliers say "France" somewhere ?? Do you have MOB pliers aswell ? The MOB pliers look like "Dolex" pliers, but the SAM pliers different. Do they make them on their own ??

To avoid the temptation of using a screwdriver , I decided to get a proper pry bar. These are well made and come with a hard plastic handle. They are sold as a set.

Does anyone else think those hazet pry bars looks sooooo generic with the 2-peice molded hard plastic handles?
Is the part # laser etched?
My biggest question is WHY couldn't Hazet fit their own screwdriver handles on those shanks :confused: :dunno:

Nice looking pry bars. Not to debase them but i agree a Hazet handle would look better though.

ps: I can spot a "E" in "ChromE Vanadium" ..... Is there a sticker with the COO somewhere ?

Ahoj , the sam pliers do not say france anywhere, the tension screw is chrome plated and so is the pushing spring I think I have seen some of their details on other pliers but I can't remember where. Mob in france means hammers and files the rest of the range is less available so I do not have locking pliers from them.

I took some time yesterday to browse the TONA website and it seems that some of their own tools survive here and there, especialy the deflection bar torque wrenches, big sockets and specialty bits you can recognize these tools easily because they are sold in blue steel boxes. They even have tool carts of their own. The prices are... oww... I would have thought good but it seems that stanley screws czech people by selling taiwanese mid range tools at facom prices.

Narex bystrice have some screwdrivers that say made in czech republik

Good eye, and that "E" being present there must mean.......:wtf: :shocking:

...

None of the stores I went to had locking pliers, except for one place. They had a Facom 511 (I think) and it was expensive as hell. Couldn't justify spending that much.

Speaking of Narex...
If the quality of chisels were based on cosmetic appearance :)D), I'd give the Narex ones a :thumbup: Pictures don't do it justice.

I am not sure about the question :dunno:? I received these from the Hazet distributor and the box says Made in Germany :thumbup:. Chrome Vanadium is also on my old Gedore and Stahlwille wrenches :headscrat. It is also on the Gedore tools catalogue.

Hazet, are those removable plastic protectors on the tips of the prybars? Or are those safety covers designed for storage only.

@maxipuce:
thx for the info about the SAM pliers ! The MOB version is readily available here through any "Peddinghaus" dealer (special order though - never saw them live - only at the fair). Or maybe i get the Facom version - but only when they are on sale :) I like these "multi-grip" pliers.....

ps: Regarding MOB files: click
probably no news for you.

nice wood chisels. Here a similar version from MHG-Messerschmidt

374.jpg

@Hazet:
usually you see "Chrom Vanadium" on german tools and not the english "ChromE Vanadium". So this is/was always a indicator where the tool is from...
But if the Box says it then it`s all good :)

Yes, they are just for storage.

btw wood chisels:

ergonomic 2 component version from MHG-Messerschmidt

Good to know about these. I was working today with some Craftsman that I just bought new a few weeks ago. They have new and improved black handles with striking caps. Time will tell how the steel is, but I don't expect them to be that great for what I paid. I think 3 for about $20 or so.

I'll have to check out these Jerry chisels.

Does anyone know when Belzer made these blue translucent screwdrivers and pliers and for how long they were produced?

I hope the picture shows up on here as it is the first one I have tried to add in here!:bounce:

I thought you`re more into metalworking ? If you don`t use them often probably lower priced or average quality ones will work too...

@Repairman:
nice Facom wrenches + sockets !!

@dlfiene:
nice tools and good question !! I only know the red handled Belzer tools.... I only once saw a scanned catalog page with blue handled Belzer screwdrivers on a japanese blog (see below) and few other tools in the web, but "live" never... Gedore once had translucent blue handles, Belzer red, Dowidat green....thats all i know :) It`s difficult to find someone who knows about Belzer because they`re long gone, the red Belzer tools are sometimes still stocked...

Thanks Monte for the info, I do have one of the Gedore screwdrivers with the blue translucent handle. I've been on the look out for more but can not find anymore. Also I won another pair of blue belzer needle nose off ebay in Germany, but have not recieved them yet. Hope they did not get lost in shipping, its now been over a month and a half:mad::(
Also how do you get the pictures to post full size on the screen?

I believe it was shipped insured, I sent the guy an email today to confirm that. It was over $40 us to ship to me. I'm not sure how long it takes to recieve stuff from Germany being shipped to the United States on DHL. :confused:
Do you have any tools from when it was Sandvik Belzer Tool Company?

Anyways here are some pictures of some tools mostly Germany, I don't know where the Moretzsohn screwdrivers are from.

@Dustin:
wow that`s a nice screwdriver collection !!

Very interesting http://www.moretzsohn.com.br/ from Brasil !
The Globe Master drivers look like a standard "radio screwdriver" like these: click
Do you have a larger pic of the At+G normal size + stubby screwdriver (+ Ideal driver) ? I guess the AT&G drivers are from Felo. Here is a thread about AT+G click where a screwdriver was posted.

Chreese posted his blue Felo driver once:
schrdersolidofelostubai.jpg

here something similar from Felo in in red. But it looks like the blue handles have "grooves" , the red handle "flats" in the handle.

Could the stubby AT+G screwdrivers look like this one ?:

Does Felo still make the translucent red handles by chance?
For some reason the photeo of the blue Felo showed up in the morning and now it disappeared. :(

@Dustin:
thanks for posting the AT&G pics !!
I`ll email Felo and ask if they still make the red (and blue) handled drivers (i guess not) or if they still have them in stock maybe.

Yeah no problem i just repost all the photobucket pics....only 80 pages.... :D
haha no ! :D ;) the pics should be viewable again at the 26th of this month

Your "Ideal" tool seems to be made by "Wuro".
I think the 4th handle from the left and 2nd from the right is the "Ideal" style:

Here is a PDF from Wuro which shows your tool: click
(page 1 on the left side) Here a large pic with your tool pictured on the left with red handle: click

ps: Do you have a bigger pic of the red handle Witte screwdriver ? Is the handle triangular ?

Do you have any tools from when it was Sandvik Belzer Tool Company?

I only have this pipe wrench from "Sandvik Belzer" and....

Just to update those I talked to about this rare ratchet the other day, I wrote to s/o and as soon as I hear anything I will let you know, I have traced it to 1920,21,23, before the f-7, then the trail goes cold. Thank's for the pm's and all the help, Bill

thx for the pics ! i thought "wittekind" was a misspelling :D
never heard of that..... The Witte "Elecplus" VDE driver with the yellow flocking is cool. Also no longer manufactured so keep them in good shape :)
btw: Felo mailed back and they said that they don`t manufacture the translucent handles anymore. They also have nothing left in stock.

Here is a pair of Gedore side cutters I got the other day. Welll used but still an excellent tool. :thumbup:

very nice !!! Where do you find all these cool tools ???? The pliers say "Germany" so it is from before 1972...
Sometimes you still see here newer pliers from Austria with translucent blue handles...
PS: :D do you have a pic :D of the "head" of the pliers, it looks like the cutting edges are "offset" ...

I have five sets of the Witte Elecplus screwdrivers so I plan to keep at least one new set. :bounce:

Thanks for checking with Felo on the screwdrivers and for posting the pictures of that scraper.

As for where I find this stuff I search the internet high and low especially ebay.

I got the gedore pliers from an auction in Australia, here are some close ups of the head on them.
