When trying to figure out what vise I bought I found this brochure for sheldon wood working vises that does not seem to be in the spread sheet.
I have two leg vises that's what I call them. I have no idea who made them or when. I have two woodworking vises they are both branded and identifiable. I think less time has been spent studying and compiling data on these types of vises. It should be fairly easey over time to identify and recognize most woodworking vises. The leg vises will definitely be harder if not impossible to identify more than a few.i am not sure that woodworking vises are easy to identify. Does your vise haver a model number stamped or cast? Is there any interest guys in woodworking vises on the Spreadsheet. I spent many hours adding Post vises but honestly only a couple post vises were displayed and most were by me.
So you want me to add your Wood Working vises? If you want your Wood Working vise added then I ask that it has a model number. If not then I really don’t want to add them.I have two leg vises that's what I call them. I have no idea who made them or when. I have two woodworking vises they are both branded and identifiable. Do you want just pictures and specs?
I could not find the Wilton Wood Working vise. If it has a model number then it should be on the spreadsheet. I’ll find one later and post it.Maybe stick to marked or at least documented WW vises?
Are the big tilting pattern makers vises in the spreadsheet Dr Scott? Those are technically Wood working vises.
That almost looks like something to hold a gas cylinder uprightAnyone seen a pipe vise like this? Almost looks like a Shopsmith accessory. Found at a neighbour's garage sale.
Ooo that's a nice one.Stephens # 6. 4-1/2" jaws that opens to 6-1/2" and weights 60 lbs
For mounting something it wouldn't be very effective or convenient as a pipe vise. That almost looks like something to hold a gas cylinder upright
I have the no. 3 also and a no.33 chail wrench which is a monster.master Zoda: From a 1942 Williams catalog
Is it an attachment to replace the saddle of a floor jack?Anyone seen a pipe vise like this? Almost looks like a Shopsmith accessory. Found at a neighbour's garage sale.

It looks like a swivel base version missing the base to me.I have a question for my peers on a recent eBay sale of an Athol no. 3 clamp-on vise, which had the clamp ground off and sold for 5X the normal amount I'd expect to see for that particular vise.

Good looking vise, but why would it fetch so much more than the original?
Or is the vise unmodified and I'm unaware of this version?
Looks like two different vises to my naïve and untrained eye. That bottom center pedestal on the ebay one doesn't look like it was added on by the user ¢¢I have a question for my peers on a recent eBay sale of an Athol no. 3 clamp-on vise, which had the clamp ground off and sold for 5X the normal amount I'd expect to see for that particular vise.

Fierljeppen the static body of that No. 3 vise looks quite a bit different than the clamp on Athol No. 3. Looks like the base under the dynamic is thicker, note where the "N" is in relation to the dynamic, and if the clamp on had the casting for the clamp cut off flush the jaw support would be thinned considerably compared to that Ebay vise. It's a strange one, don't think Athol used 2 swivel locks either, leads me to think someone drilled those holes to mount it, weird. Hope the buyer knows something we don't and is happy with his purchase.I have a question for my peers on a recent eBay sale of an Athol no. 3 clamp-on vise, which had the clamp ground off and sold for 5X the normal amount I'd expect to see for that particular vise.
