Sawyer 602-1/2. 2-1/2" jaws opens to 2-3/4 and weights 28lbs. Worth repeating from Fierljeppen... "That latest Nutyp model came out in 1929 as Oswego Tool, changed to Nutyp International in 1930, then finished out as Sawyer Tool from about 1942 - 1950, give or take."
KMScott...I need to amend my comments slightly, as I misinterpreted some of my data.
The latest Nutyp vise model started advertising in Oct of 1930 as International Nutyp Corp., not in 1929 as Oswego Tool Co. The new change was the addition of the 3rd jaw and can be seen in the attached scans. This model continued with Sawyer Tool, which eventually changed from the swivel-locking wrench to the swivel-locking spindle style.
Long-story-short...I've been acquiring some printed and referenceable Nutyp vise material that I'll be adding to the already significant information provided by
PghJKB and
Bluebolt. I'm currently pursuing some Google locked directory information that I need to create a time-line of the handover from International Tool Corp. to Sawyer Tool (Sawyer Foundry & Machine Works) and beyond. I'm pretty happy with the Oswego Tool Co. information I've recently acquired.
Sorry about the misinformation. Hopefully we'll be able to continue to solve more and more of the mysteries surrounding this very interesting vise.
