Garages section? Not sure I know what you speak of...

Sorry Ryan, maybe it wasn't called garages. If you clicked on a username and it took you to their profile many people had photo albums in their profile showing either their shops, cars, etc. You could click on the individual photo albums and it would take you to multiple pictures inside of each album. Sorry if I can't remember the exact nomenclature of the feature. Hopefully by description you'll know what I mean.

Thanks.

I just did quote/ reply on both previous posts and this is what I got

I got the single level quote to work... so far. If I wanted to quote separate posts, say that one and one before (from, say, Ryan) both, I think it will take some other combination of something or the other...

I think it's just a matter of learning how to use the clutch pedal and accelerator in conjunction with moving the lever coming out of the steering column in a synchronized manner whilst (love that word... whilst...) refraining from certain audio eminations originating from the locatio of the gearbox...

Guess I'll have to diddle with it some more!

I have been looking around a bit, it looks nice on the surface. There will be some learning before I feel like home again, but in a couple of weeks this new site will feel lots better than that old beaten one. I know how it is to sit there implementing the huge changes and then sit back and look at the great result, I have also seen the other side of that coin - the huge fiasco.

This looks like success for me!

I need a break, so let me give you some context...

My neighbor has had secret service stationed outside his property since early this year for reasons we won't break forum rules for. I don't like this neighbor much, but have grown to become pals with his secret service detail. They are good guys... interested in cars, tools, working... you know, real ****... I bring them coffee at least one morning a week.

Anyway, about a month ago they apprehended someone right outside my property. Was this some crazy political activist or the like? Nope. A banned Garage Journal member looking to get even.

So yeah... My mind tends to wonder every now and then.
Unbelievable! What is wrong with people...

wondering if there's a way to reduce the number of emails sent out?
VB I had set for daily updates. don't see a similar option ? don't need instant notifications every time someone posts ina sub/d thread

BTW, haven't had to cuss it out once! It took a couple log-ins to get caught up to date (it was sending me back to April all the time) and it kept referring to me as a "new member" but that's worked out too. Thanks again Ryan.

Looks good.

a few things could help me ...
1) why is there so much empty space under a post before it gets to the next post? Each post is taking up the whole screen requiring a lot of scrolling.
2) the words and letters look green to me. Can i set a preference so that it is black so I can get a bit better contrast compared to the background?
I had issues with serious dead space last night on my phone. I'd assume that you have some stuff cached. Try logging in/out a few times to see if it corrects itself.

AHA!!! I get it. So I have to get going to about 50, push the floor pedals down First, then move the lever thingy from "3" (which is pretty fast) to "R" (which must mean "Really fast")... Right?

(Sorrry, Ryan, I just dumped the forum's transmission on the highway...hope you're not too sore...)

Thanks, Cobbler!

My guess is if you don't know, and they don't want you to know, then you might not want to know... When you're at a "certain level" you get privileges like keeping your personal information private. And honestly, those kinds of jobs usually give you things like white hair at an early age, occasional sleepless weeks, and no end to the kooks...

BTW, I've known a few pretty high ranking politicos, and found for the most part we have enough common likes to where our disrespective politics don't come into it. Kind of like "I don't care how you vote, as long as we can crack a couple brewskis and shoot the **** about fishing."

For those unhappy with the font, go to your preferences (drop-down from your user name at the top) and change the "style" to "stock XF 2.2 style". This is more like the old forum and waaaay easier to read.

maybe I am too stupid, but I can't find where to change it under preferences...

Thanks for all the work to keep this forum going. Really like the quick change on font, much preferred. I zoomed out and turned down brightness for now until a dark version is hopefully available at some point.

"Well-known member."

Considering the other meaning of "member," maybe I should be insulted. :)

On the other hand, maybe for this bunch that's a compliment. :D

Ryan! This is funny - I was playing around with my browser settings, because I just prefer seeing more of everything at once (more forums at main view, more threads once inside a forum) than scrolling or other navigating, and as I shrunk the site window, it revealed more of the "blueprint"/patent diagrams background, which does not shrink. At 67%, which is what I have been running it at, it revealed the Cochran SPEEDNUT wrench on the left! That is a nice, classy, admirable, subtle touch! For those who may not know what I am referring to, read the first two posts in this Vintage Board thread.

I appreciate this place, the people, and the knowledge that is discussed here immensely.
I sincerely appreciate all of Ryan's dedication to this space for us to learn from each other!!

Just saying my thoughts..... NO offense meant!
I use a PC to look here, not a phone.
* The size of the font is kinda big, but at the same time, kinda tall and squashed. Maybe my settings?
* When clicking a picture I used to be able to just scroll down and the pic went away, now have to close it. Petty and maybe I'm missing something?
* I have not used "search" yet. Hopefully better than it was.
* I like the "Like" button instead of people quoting a long post just to say "Nice!"
* Click around to learn the new features and discover where the old ones are. Things change.
* NOT speaking for Ryan, but I feel like it's just like you don't know if you don't ask; Provide constructive input to the owner.

I'm onward to enjoying this awesome place and learning the new features of this change!
THANKS Ryan (and ALL the moderators) for providing this amazing site!!

Wow, it's bright in here! Looking forward to the image uploading being easier. Might need to lower my screen brightness a touch too, especially for evening reading.
Ryan, thanks for providing such a cool place for us garage-aholics to congregate!

Wtf? I mean I seriously enjoy this forum but I can guarantee you nothing that happens on here between me or anyone is going to cause me to try to get even. ******* lunatics in this world man.

Also TGJ app still works great on the Ol iPhone.

Good to see the GJ back!
And yeah, let me pile on about the fonts. I don't know who the programmers of xenforo are, but their choice of fonts leaves a lot to be desired from a readability standpoint.

Months ago I started reading this entire forum, all the way back. Not everything, but the topics that interested me. I was on page 2617 when the upgrade happened. If I remember correctly there was approximately 3300 total pages. Now there's only 2128 pages. I'm bummed. Happy with the upgrade otherwise, though.
