What do your Storage Cabinets look like?

Looks awesome. Can you post some thoughts about them? How do the drawers feel? How are the depth and sizes? It seems that the deep drawer is too deep but the shallow drawer won't work for standing sockets up.

The drawers feel solid, no wobble when fully extended, smooth slides, they are not self closing but have a detent you can feel when they reach the fully closed position.
The inside depth of the shallow drawers is 3", the deep drawers are 6.5". I was already storing my deep sockets laying down in my old Snap-Off box and planned to do the same in this box so it was not a big deal for me.

Re: Garage Cabinets and Storage

I like the adding face framing to the metal shelving unit. Anyone have any walkthroughs on how to accomplish this?

That is not a garage. It's an operating theatre.

Here's my freebie vintage Steelcase floor cabinet and four of the six freebie cabinets I have in my garage. The other two are above the bench, just to the right of the red toolbox.

I installed some NewAge Performance series cabinets I got through the NewAge website on clearance. The first batch of cabinets were literally crushed, but I called NewAge and they sent replacements. I ended up with a few extra cabinets because of the first set of cabinets being crushed. All-in I'm at just under $2000 including the wood counter top.

Awesome Don. I love those body work carts. I don't do body work any longer these days but I would have loved to have had those back in the day.

Just ran across this thread and need to read more of it but lots of good ideas. I have a 30 x 40 x 14H to outfit and was thinking of some pallet racking but used stuff may get a low SAF. Most of the big box store stuff is limited in height. Don't need anything clear to the ceiling as it will be hard to access but wanting something at least 8' and maybe 10'. Might try to put some wood ones together myself...

Super space limited here; basement as well. Some of the tool boxes like the Red and Black Snap-On 26" roller cabinet I've owned since the early 1980s. The HF stuff is more recent (last 4 yrs) the Sear Professional is within the last 10.

Got all the Gladiator stuff for 50% off when Lowe's had their first big clearance of it. It's outrageously expensive for what it is, not really very useful/efficient space wise other than the two big double door cabinets, I really like those. They all house my extensive vintage car audio collection, which will need to be trimmed after the Foxbody the F150 and my kids car are completed next summer. Got over 50 amps, probably 20 sub cabinets and 30 subwoofers tucked away in another room as well.

Garage has tools, machinery and supplies incl. a drawer full of Stainless 12 pt ARP nuts and bolts, several boxes and drawers of -AN fittings and hoses from -3 up to -24. The woodworking hardware and tool parts is starting to creep into unmanageable territory, going to be purging some of the big drawers of the 44" Sears Pro of their snowmobile parts and re-organize for the upcoming wood / mdf dust season for the car audio/interior/trunk build.

It's a full time job staying on top of everything seeing the hobby list is long and includes Foxbody restoration, track prep, car audio installation, woodworking, snowmobiling and of course general home renos and fixing/building stuff.

An awful lot going on here!
1. Ducati sticker?
2. That Audio test bench looks awesome! (Nice Orion amp BTW) I was, am still really, a Nakamichi and a/d/s fan.
3. I'm looking for a couple of subs - any of the 30 you've got going to be for sale?
4. A list of the amps would be cool too.
5. Did I mention that audio test bench is really cool! What are you using for a 12v power suply?

Many Thx for the compliments

1) Ya, I'm a bike guy at heart but would be serving Beelzebub his / her? breakfast if I didn't stop riding at age 18. Zero self control. So now I snowmobile lol.

5) Thanks - it uses an Astron 70 Amp rms power supply that sits at 13.75 V, along with a Odyssey PC925 AGM battery out of the Mustang. Have one amp that I can't run full boogie - a Rockford Fosgate T2000...it has a 250 Amp ANL fuse built into it, meaning you can feed it 500A instantaneously without blowing the fuse. Hmmmmm.....

2) If you look closely, there is also a Punch 45HD (purchased brand new in 1991 while employed by Pioneer Electronics) on the left side of the Orion HCCA225....which in my 40 yrs of installations is by far the sweetest sounding car amp ever built. It's a factory redesign of their initial GX280 with radically reduced rail voltage and some other tricks incl better caps etc. They are amazing for low impedance setups, especially with passive crossover networks and three channel operation. Have about6 of those, as well as some 250s and one 425, a 280, a 240 and three SX250s in the bullpen for the car build. About 16 Rockford amps and then a bunch of MTX, US Acoustiscs and then some japanese stuff like Pioneer, Kenwood etc.

3) They will be for sale eventually, but shipping them would be atrociously expensive. I do come out to Detroit a few times per year, have customers and my buddy Dean Martin / Kohr Motorsports in Livonia.....I have 10s and 12s; a pair of Rockford Punch HX2 DVCs RFD2212 - one is BNIB, the other is minty and being used on the test bench. Those are for sale for sure, gonna be $350 ish for the pair, they are dual 4 Ohm 3" voice coils, 500 W rms each speaker. Heavy.

4) I wish I had a real list; but as I'm cleaning up downstairs, one may appear. I have an ADS Powerplate 40 from around 1988 in stock.

So much stuff, I forget a lot of it. Focal, MB Quart, Amega.....

Nice like car audio collection. I need to take pictures of mine. Interested in selling any of it?
