It is a very long list... but tool wise... “fad” tools.. like comfort grip and neon colors. If you need a soft cushy grip on a ratchet... maybe you should just hire someone... IMO

People who write things run the risk of other people reading it. Incorrect spelling, especially with spell check, indicates that the writer is lazy. Grammar is a little different, but it's important to "knowing your ****" as opposed to "knowing you're ****".
Nothing bigger to ***** about? No, not really.

Clearly, some small group of those that have grammar and spelling mistakes are lazy or just don't care. That doesn't take into account reasons like auto correct, spell check, English as a 2nd language or the myriad of other reasons. As a general matter I think far less of the person who sees themselves as spelling and grammar police than those being corrected.

Some just need some flimsy reason to falsely believe they are better than others when if you resort to being the spelling police on the internet the evidence is specious at best.

YMMV

Adults who don't know the difference between "your" and "you're", but that isn't tool related

Count me in on this but ESPECIALLY people that use "then" and "than" interchangeably.

Hell, even supposed professional writers get it wrong because (I assume) computers auto spell recognize either as a valid word but don't know when to use which one.
Well, I have an additional pet peeve.

People that are grammar or spelling police on the internet. Nothing bigger to ***** about?

"...on the internet" means communication by writing English. If the person CAN'T WRITE English CORRECTLY it is annoying as hell. It's dealing with semi-illiterates. No issue whatsoever with people online for whom English is not their native language. But otherwise? What's your excuse?!

So now we're talking about grammar in a sense.

How about shortening words when speaking? Are you really that lazy?

Some that come to mind that I've heard: veg for vegetable, merch for merchandise. rando for random. "prolly" for probably. 'Merica for America. I'm sure I've heard more, but I guess I'm not storing the rest in memory.

On a related note: Auto-correct subsituting words. I don't always catch them, but I look over something I typed and I know damn well that is not what I typed in.
My brother sent me a picture of his grandson after he got his long hair cut with the caption "the new Loki". He typed in "Lolo" which is what he goes by, but it substituted Loki, who is the God of Mischief; not a bad substitution. :=)

To be fair, if English is not your first language, folks on this forum and in most other places on t'intarwebz are pretty understanding.

It's a lot more common for someone to apologize in advance for any mistakes in their English, then deliver an clear, well-organized essay in immaculate college-level British or American English.

FWIW, writing is a large part of how I've made my living for three decades or so. I make plenty of mistakes, but when I use abbreviations like "FWIW", or silly slang like "t'intarwebz", it's on purpose. "Purity" in language is sooooo boring.

Speaking of inconsiderate people on the internet...

Jeez, I was trying to sell a 15" car subwoofer on CL and Facebook. What a joke. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY read the ad. Every question (besides the default, annoying "is this available"), was a question that was answered in the ad. "Where are you located?" Really? It's in the ad text, facebook puts it under my name, and includes a map! "How much?". REALLY? Not only is it in the ad, it's at the top of the f'n chat box that you are typing in!

I had probably 30 time-wasting idiots bugging me all weekend. No exaggeration. Then finally I got a nice, literate person. He made an appointment for later in the day. Then, about an hour before he's supposed to show, he bumps the appointment out an additional hour. Then one more hour, followed by a cancellation.

I deleted the ads in frustration, I decided to just keep it. Then I noticed I had one friendly email from a CL user in my inbox. I told him to come get it, and he actually did. So this story has a happy ending. But man, every time I try to sell anything car-audio related, it's a tremendous ****-show. everything else I try to sell seems to go just fine.

So my peeve? Lazy-***, Non-ad-reading people on the internet. Don't ask me **** I already typed out. Don't ask me **** that you can google by using the model numbers I have provided. I don't want to hear ANYTHING other than when you're on your way. Know what you're buying, and don't bug me until you are actually ready to buy.

I have a mobility situation. I applied for and qualified for a disabled tag. I often get persons telling me off for driving a Ram 2500-4X4. It has been suggested that I drive a Honda Element.

CL is a **** show as is FB Marketplace. I have never bought anything off either. I did sell a couple of items, but it's seems everybody on there wants something for nothing, including a lot of people on this forum. To me, the price is the price. Don't like the price, don't buy it.

Right- I also have the very unpopular opinion that "my price is my price". I list all my **** "firm". I don't have time for the dance. "Aww, knock a hundred bucks off so I can feel like I beat you up a little" (actual quote). Umm, no, sounds more like you need therapy, not a discount.

I always do my research and price my items fair, and they always eventually sell. It's just a peeve how certain items attract illiterate cavemen lowballers. You can just picture them scrolling, and grunting "WAAANNNT!" and hammering the "message seller" button without even reading, lol.

Im like why does a huge company have 3 people answering phones???? I know its prolly much more than that but it seems like its an industry standard these days.
Listen carefully,as our menu options have changed.

Road idiots who can't, or don't care, or won't try, to properly use entry and exit ramps on the highway. Those that just wander up the entrance ramp at whatever speed they happen to be at, then move into highway traffic like "you're supposed to move over and make room for me." No, YOU are supposed to plan for a gap in traffic, and SPEED UP or even slow enough to match a gap in traffic. You're supposed to be AT or very near traffic speed before getting on the highway.

Those that get near an exit ramp and then get on the brakes while still in the traffic lane before exiting onto the exit ramp, quite often done with no signal. One of my methods to reduce risk when riding my motorcycles is to avoid being near any other vehicles when near an exit or entrance ramp. Often that means I am in the lanes furthest away from the exit/entrance lanes until I need to use them.

Yes, I now remember I heard someone say "totes cray", for "totally crazy"

Thinking about it, what does it mean that I understood what they were implying?

What I should have replied was "The only people I know that tote clay are potters"

I guess the times change and now I'm the adult looking down on these things. When I was a kid the term "totally radical" was used a lot in the surf and skate culture I grew up in. No one said "totes rad". But totally radical probably sounded stupid to the adults at the time.

When I hear "radical" now, I think of unpaired valence electrons.

Those mostly weren't people; at least 90% of the traffic you get from a CrackList or Faecesbook ad is just bots. There's an art to distinguishing the humans from the bots.

And then, yeah, there are always some people who are real but also complete morons.

It's been a long time since I tried to sell anything on CrackList.

It is a great way to get people to come haul away **** you don't want. It's amazing what people will delightedly come pick up from the curb.

Wrench sets that leave out certain sizes that are needed. That is my tool one. My biggest one is online venders that rip you off. I'm getting ready to file a BBB complaint against Corsa Forza a Fiat parts supplier that sold me some beat up parts then refused to take them back because they blame me for the damage. If they win I've lost close to $600 over the last 8 years with different companies .

People trashing our public lands, and saying ******** like, "I pay taxes so it's my land and I can do what I want with it." Or "I'll never come back here so why does it matter if I leave my trash.... not my f'n problem"

My old lady and I love dispersed camping up in Pike San Isabelle national forest, (for those who don't know, you just go up in the national forest, find a spot and camp just about wherever you want...for free)
We'll find a beautiful spot off of a forest service road or something and the next time we come back it's trashed; beer cans everywhere, trash bags, poop, mattresses, you name it. We'll fill up half my truck bed with other peoples **** before actually starting to set up our gear. It seems like it's gotten a lot worse over the last couple of years too.

It's all those god dang Californians taking over Colorado  Look out Tennessee, sounds like they're coming for you next.
In all seriousness though I can't blame any one group of people, it's just ******, lazy, entitled people.

Yes, trash everywhere, everywhere...

Have you noticed the urban blight? Any progress made since the 1970s is quickly being reversed. Malls, restaurants, strip malls and stores are all closing and are just empty buildings with boarded up or smashed windows.

Gang graffiti is rampant too.

All this is in the suburbs, not just the "inner city".

I've worked with guys that insist on using channel locks or their leatherman on EVERYTHING.
Just about every fitting touched is chewed up to where you can't even get an actual wrench on it, don't even dare to hand loosen or tighten anything because you'll be digging brass or stainless splinters out of your fingers.
Also had a guy that was a bull on everything, thought every bolt, nut, pipe fitting, instrumentation fitting had to be as tight as humanly possible. Also the same guy that would smash your hand with a wrench or hammer while you were helping hold something or back a blind nut and then say **** like "well you shouldn't have been there" but then turn around and ***** about not getting any help.
I had a vendor help me with a project. He has a van FULL of tools, and I had my own as well. But he used his Gerber multitool for everything. While I appreciate that it is capable of doing all that, dedicated tools are far better. It's one thing if you are up on a ladder and forget something, but all our tools were right there. After a moment of disbelief, I just used my tools for what I was working on while he fiddled with the multitool to get the function he wanted. I guess it was expensive, so he had to justify it. LOL.

I have a motorhome and trailer combo that weighs in around 50,000 pounds when loaded for a trip. Most of the time I can't get up to highway speed by the time I hit the bottom of the on ramp even with 400 HP and 1,300 pounds of torque and pedal on the floor. I start planning my merge as soon as I turn onto the on ramp.

When exiting, yes, I will start slowing down before I am completely off the highway almost every time. Many exit ramps are pretty short and I wouldn't be able to stop easily otherwise.

I'm not driving a sports car that would be doing 100+ MPH at the end of the ramp with the pedal floored. In my regular vehicle I will be at highway speed by the end of the on ramp and not slow down until I am off the highway.

Yep, we ran up to one of the malls here in the springs last weekend to run some errands and it was like a ghost town in there, won't be long before it's closed down I bet.
I make a point to be an ******* about picking up other peoples trash, the other day at Lowes some fat lard threw her soda out her window in front of me. I picked it up and put it under her windshield wiper, she looked at me like I was crazy. some people drive me nuts.
