The box was $2500, so there's $87,500 in tools?
That's pretty impressive since you've been a tech for less than 3 years. I should go work in your shop because they obviously pay great! Congrats on the awesome job.

Looks like your career choice has really taken off.
I'm laughing so hard at you right now. It's sad you waste your time following my posts trying to figure my life out so you can have something to say. Is your life that pathetic? If you like Sears, HF, anyone else besides SO just go and buy their tools and don't worry about it. I don't think about anyone here on these forums when I make a tool purchase or choice...
To counter you elaborate points though, I started working as a tech in 1998 at a dealer. When I made that comment in 2009 about some random scan tool I bought I think I was in between jobs maybe I don't remember but I think my point was I was a dealer tech and had no use for an aftermarket scan tool. Kinda fuzzy but I think that was my point.
I did pay $2500 for that box in the picture(pretty good deal huh?) That doesn't mean it's not worth a whole lot more. Go price them on CL or feebay. Value has nothing to do with what I pay for something.
The cart next to it was $900 and all the tools added up on my tool spreadsheet at that time in 2009 totaled just over 90K. In the last two years I've purchased about 9-10K a year. I know because I add up all my truck receipts, ebay purchases, Craigslist purchases and flea market purchases and I give them to my tax lady to use as a deduction. This year should be around 14-15K because I bought a Solus Ultra last month before the end of the year.
I think I have more than 110K at work now but I haven't crunched the numbers. It's too time consuming just adding new stuff to my spreadsheet.
Business isn't as good as I'd like it to be but it's a living. I have a skill set that's useful and I can work anywhere I want. I'm probably not the best tech in the world or anything but I'm definitely above average.
I'm happy with where I'm at, in two weeks I'm flying out of state for an interview for a job with a major auto manufacturer and I'll probably land it and be done with working at the dealer. Anything else you want to know?
One of my balls is smaller than the other one too
