Those tappet wrenches look so much like S-K manufactured that I would almost bet they were. The size marks look S-K, also.I picked up this tappet wrench set today. I tried to find info about it but I can’t. It looks newer than any Hinsdale I’ve seen before and does not say Made in USA anywhere.
Nice. That's the same one I've been working on without much success since page 1. See posts 10, 36, and 98 for photos and info including cat excerpts.A smaller hinsdale 3/8 set

Thanks for that share! I find it fascinating that they include dimensional spec prints for their tools right in the catalogs. There are Hinsdale catalogs up through '43, and something in my memory tells me they lasted until '48 or so.

Agreed. The only other example I can think of for any Mfgr incorporating dimensional spec drawings in their catalogs is Bonney in 1957 and 1960. And I gushed about it. Very cool.I find it fascinating that they include dimensional spec prints for their tools right in the catalogs.
Easy to get lost in them, and I have a couple times. Maximum info for the potential customers. I like the approach, and can imagine someone in a board room meeting making a case for the inking required for print, whereas other manufacturers took the tried & true traditional ads approach. Thanks for that share! Oh my goodness. I am so jealous
I know this boat was three years ago but I love your set. If you still have it, can you post some pics of the had driver handleHinsdale 17M 1/4" drive set with some early small ignition wrenches.
Nice acquisitions!I just picked up 2 Hinsdale sets a GC20 and a CN50…
I love the CN setHi Guys: I just picked up 2 Hinsdale sets a GC20 and a CN50… they will be added to the pressed steel sockets that I have from Hinsdale
Can you show the rachet out of the CN50 setHi Guys: I just picked up 2 Hinsdale sets a GC20 and a CN50… they will be added to the pressed steel sockets that I have from Hinsdale
Hi all, newbie and love old tools and this site! Picked this up the other day and from what I can read from the posts it seems that it may be somewhat rare but I’ll let the experts weigh in. The action is free float and to reverse, you depress the knob and actuate the way you jeed to go. Bitchin'! Any history on age or scarcity?
Really? Wow! I assume the pics came through. If not, let me know pleasenope.. I’ve never seen one of those in my life.
Well, I know the ratchet you’re referring to. Can you trim your picture down perhaps?Hi all, newbie and love old tools and this site! That is a what is referred to as a Hinsdale “bubble ratchet.” I would consider it in the rare side.
