So.......Was it a big event this year ? Always good to get away and get home to a fresh start at work.

Valentines is always just a low key event (that's kinda what I like about it)
20 years this year, so as a major sponsor, at least I didn't have to do too much(makes a change
)
Dunno about a "fresh start" just another day of busting my **** & running in around in circles![]()
My new school based kid who was due to start today (DIDN'T TURN UP)
I'm sick of unreliable people, or none at all !!
Why can't I find staff
I would have given my right one to work in a Rod Shop when I was young.
They are the best events to got to.![]()
Well I always find after being away I get a fresh perspective on things even if it takes a few days to get back to speed.
Oh how sad and sadly so typical. You know a firm I deal with has been having the same problem and just today had a new worker. A senior Citizen I will add, keen to work and keen to do his best even if he was slow he was cautious not wanting to damage a finished project he was cleaning and I am told he arrived to work on time. I was told all this as I was asked to show him how to do a job he had not done before and I had just called to collect some parts. May be you need to do the same ? Look for some one like that.

Any updates ? A few of us here on the forum have been patiently waiting to see what is happening.

) I even thought about doing something to it this long weekend, but with plenty on (& a car club turning up on Sunday for a Tour) I spose that won't happen

I am impressed at the amount of work that you are putting into the Shop truck along with being really impressed with the quality of the work.
It's sad that you can't find help. I know that if I lived close to you, I'd probably help you for free just to hang out to see what is next to be done. What you do is a dieing art. The young ones of today would rather sit behind a computer all day long and not have to do any physical labor. Sadle someday the ones like yourself will be no more.
Looking forward to any pics you post and especially of the work truck.![]()

It's a good thing I don't really post all of my work here, or other wise it would have to be a "What's Happened at Rods & Relics" thread instead
)
) a pic, of the same '47 coupe that has just left the shop

I just went back a few pages to see were I was at with the Shop Truck Build on here & saw that I had posted a pic (& not that long ago in the thread, but a year ago in "real time") a pic, of the same '47 coupe that has just left the shop

It came in for a week of work last year (structual work) & it returned for 2 weeks work of fitting the fenders, hood & boot this year......... at least most of it fits now![]()

)
but do something on the old girl instead

What all those Ricers through the workshop and no photos ?
Remember todays Ricer could be tommorrows new Hot Rodder.
Read this on the HAMB

as it has a comment about Ricers![]()
)Read the link (Thanks!) very interesting & VERY cool gauges (I love those needles!)
and????????
Spose you gunna tell me what they say![]()
It's ok Rocket. We will be here when you do get around to the Shop Truck! I do have to say I am glad you opened up your doors to the Drifters! I think a lot of different car cultures could learn and enjoy each other's work (and shops!).

About 4 or 5 to 1 I reckon

That Restorers - Rodder gap closes more every day with many joint events happening these days and even older Rods appearing Restored in Restorers magazines. Alot of my market is the the same now 50/50.
Rod you may want to edit the quote in post 299 as that appears to have been a spammer and the original post has been removed. (The red X's are the bad links).
299??
he seems ok to me........ (what red crosses??)
That post 299 has now been deleted as you quoted a spammer in that post with bad links. Post numbers have been changed. Post 299 is now as you say ok.
If you recall - You responded to some one about your hoist. These spammers make about 6 posts in random topics with bad links and then get deleted.

. Also told they are not easy to get parts for now and I recall the steering box had issues.
Diesels swapped in.Is this a homemade lift under the truck?How is it run?Looks cool.Looks like a fun project,lotta work,gotta have a lot of heart to take on something like that and work 7 days a week

This would make someone happy if I bought it for the running gear

Very cool, What swap meets do you go to? I always wanted to cut down a COE Pete and make a mini pete!
You can do better than that. Mine is a newer engine than that model.
No Joke! (yours is brand new!) but doesn't it have all the electrics too?
I'd be happy to go for basic stuff, easy to work on (besides, I'm not loaded like you, so 2nd hand it the only way it'll happen)
Loaded
Oh I am loaded but not in the way you think. Loaded with headaches from suppliers that fail to do things the right way just as you are loaded by not being able to find good staff.Well you (should) know the story, Cummins made me an offer on a newer 2008 Engine that I could not refuse. Mine is non electronic and just the plain simple Cummins not like the newer engines in the Dodge Ram.

In fact another Hot Rodder I know has just gone west for work (Mining) and asked me if I would go to.

How about an update on that project even if it is just a photo as it is now ? Give a few of us some inspiration.
