Wright Tool WRIGHTGrip 2.0 on the way

I just counted and including ratcheting wrenches I have 14 complete sets of metric wrenches alone. I started this thread on Wright Tools though and would like to keep it that way.

I'm pretty sure my 13mm Wright Grip has spread a bit. Maybe I'll pick up a 2.0 to replace it.


FWIW: Wright makes the best wrenches I've ever used. Everyone who has used them compliments the comfy beams, and the great grip. Also, the satin is beautiful, and much easier to hold/clean. Hopefully the 2.0 stuff will still be available in satin.

The video says that they'll make something for you if they don't already. Maybe enough people should inquire about long handle sets.

I'm about to start revising my wrenches and sockets to get away from having 20 different brands. I'd love to be able to drop one chunk of change on a full range of wrenches, long, extra long, SAE and metric sets as well as a variation or two of ratcheting wrenches.

+1 Felt I was born in wrong country after watching that video. I'm officially Canadian but American at heart. Free speech. 2nd amendment. Property rights. Awesome stuff made in the USA from guns & ammo, to tools, to the All-Clad pots and pans that occupy my kitchen. I never mind spending money on high quality product from companies that actually care about craftsmanship and their customers.

When I was a tech I had my large work set of tools and a smaller home/side job set. What's funny is, almost 9 years out from leaving the business I'm still adding to both sets which sit side by side in my garage. I am even building a smaller travel set. Oh well, gives me an excuse to buy more Wright stuff!!

I, for one, would be interested in 11-15 PC sets in both Metric & SAE that was 10-15% longer. I don't use much above 1" or 22-24mm frequently enough to be concerned with the larger sizes. Though to satisfy those that do you could simply offer the larger sizes as a 4-5 Pc expansion set.

10-24mm for me. Unless a stubby is needed, i love them longer wrenches.

I just got home from my tour of the Wright Tool facility and I must first thank Ty for all the hospitality and yes I did bring my camera and he let me photograph inside. I'll start a new thread with all the photo's.

My most used wrenches are my long pattern ones being an auto tech so I can really see the value in Wright offering them. As far as sizes go I would say at least a 3/8 to 3/4 and 10-19mm. Even though I already have wrenches covered I would still buy a set.

Kudo to Wright for stamping their wrench instead of laser etched. Alot of new tools are laser etched now which I absolutely hate. I also like how Wright use big bold character. Like everybody said, long and midget wrench would be nice.

While I have not yet puchased any Wright wrenches, I was planning to purchase sets of sae and metric to upgrade from my craftsmans by the end of the year or so.. I think I'll just have to wait until the 2.0 comes out though!

Props to the people who produced the video, it's great to see companies comitted to making quality tools in the USA and not listening to the bean counters!

My thoughts are long pattern combo wrenches from 10mm-19mm in metric with no skipped sizes and 3/8"-1" in SAE. Wrenches smaller than that just aren't needed in long pattern and combos get big above 1" anyway so I think this is a good size range without getting carried away.

I know forging dies are expensive as is the development process but the Wrightgrip wrench is a winning product and would be even better in long pattern. Speaking from an Auto mechanic perspective I love having extra reach and leverage in a wrench and Wrightgrip wrenches are certainly strong enough to take it.

While visiting the factory yesterday I also made a request for more variety in 1/4" drive ratchets. I would like to see some different length and flex head models like Wright offers in 3/8" drive sizes and larger.

I've got Wright tools that I bought new in the 70s at Uncle Bill's, they have been used hard, and never a failure. I love my wrightgrips, and will go with the 2.0 version, but still use the originals when working on vintage machinery, so as to not damage the fasteners.

IMO Wright has all of the value of the truck tool brands at a price that is far less expensive

I ordered 9/16 Wright Grip a little while ago just to see first hand what they are like. I liked every part about it with the exception of the length. I don't wrench for a living, but after my first long pattern wrench purchase, I was thinking why would anyone want a standard length?

One small thing, and I know this sounds stupid, I wish it was stamped just WRIGHT. Instead of Wright Grip.

The satin is just simply amazing. Even better than Toptul's and Stahlwille's quality. Sorry Toptul and Stahlwille fans.

I noticed you included some Wrightgrip 2.0 wrench pictures, but it looks like in all the excitement you "accidentally" forgot to take us a picture of the open end of the new wrenches. The new open ends are all strangely hidden, off in the background, or out of focus. :

And I love Wright tools, I have a wrench set in std and metric, I work for myself as a mobile mechanic. 1/2 drive, 3/4, drive, sockets and ratchets. Top quality, best chrome ive seen, art like finish. Tough tools too!
