Water Pressure is not enough. I can have 2 of the lines open at the same time! and get okay water flow. If I have more than that open the system wont keep up pressure and the soaker house will only work on the first 20' or so. They are set up in 50' runs cept line the top 2 lines are 2 soaker hose tied into a a single 100 foot run so those 2 100 runs will have to be the only lines on when they are going. I have to replace 2 of the soaker hose due to rodent damange and holes in the soaker hose that I can't get to seal back up. 3 of my soaker hose's had minor holes I was able to use electric tape and get it to slow to a small drip and the soaker hose would still hold pressure. 1 soaker hose has like 7 holes in it and it just wont hold up and the area's leak to much. I was also short 1 soaker hose so I made some adjust ments but with the overlaps that I have. Ideal I have 16 outputs for the garden each row has 2 runs each at 50' so the soaker at the end doubles back the last 10' to give a little bit extra at the end. But I need 1 output for a hose bib to fill up the chicken water. 2 of the outputs went to 100 runs and when those are active they will be the only ones runnig. For the others will run water into 2 runs and due a single row of a time.

Out of my 4 splitter valves 2 of them must have had fronzen over winter as they have cracks and leak's I'll have to replace those. But wanting to make this you turn on water set a timer for 10 min go and change over to next set reset timer and in 90 min or so the garden is watered. This is something the kids can due and not super hard. Have tried doing a sprinkler in the past but could not get the range to get water coverage all where I wanted. Plust also moving the sprinkler to new locations didn't seem to work out very well.

we put Ash's from the wood boiler and the bedding from the chicken house got tossed into the garden as well.

sorry for the long rambling post. but Ill use this to look back on to know what I did and by reading this I'll go oh yea that's how I set it up for the garden watering system.

This setup puts water where I want it right where the plants are and not between the rows where the weeds are at.

Did this last year and the garden was the best it has ever been. Just trying to make it a little better and easier to use.

That's a crazy looking watering system.
It takes a bit to get it setup but it works simple enough when its set up. Just takes time to get all the rows' watered but this way just im puttin the water on the plants that I due want to grow. In years past we have done the blanket sprinkler and water the whole area. With this the plants get the best chance to grow.

I just wish I had better water pressure that I could run more than 2 lines at a time.

It’s too bad the family lost everything. Since you’re using the Ladder/ Tower 66(?), I assume this area has hydrants?

What is your dispatch assignment for a house fire versus a building fire?
Clothes are probaly okay just smoke damage and water logged is all. I would think. the furniture is all trashed though. This ended up being a MABAS call. House was in a small village 12 miles from my station and 6 miles from the closest station. The village has a water tower but we was going threw water pretty good so had to call in tankers to help keep up. I think heard on scene the village Pump is good for 175 Gallons a minute is all. Had 2 Engines on the attack both flowing 2 hand lines of water I want to say the engine I was on we also was feeding to the ladder as well. We just did a defensive attack as everybody was out of the house. When we got there the fire was already threw the roof and had started there as well. My department was called for a 2nd attack engine for this as it was during the day and most departments are low staffed. We are all volunteer departments in my area.

Firewood will most likley run threw the boiler in February of 23 its all stacked up in the wood shed in the back row my goal is to have shed filled by mid sumner and the in fall cut wood ahead for a change. Instead of cut and burn same year. But have to find time to get wood cut. So many other projects going on. It's a pick what to work on summer season once again

Looks for nice weather for the Brat sale today.

The firewood was priced right? This early in the season, when can you burn it?
Weather was good had a bit of rain for 5min but not enough to pack it up. Nice time to talk with the legion guys as well and they like having the scouts help them out.

Growing your own good is pretty nice snd hoping your crops end up coming inside without too much insect or critter damage.

Sugar shack should be pretty cool once you get it finished.

How often do you get to put out house fires? Most of the fireman around here get calls to give drug addicts medical assistance cause I cant recall the last house fire.

Looks like it’s getting warmer so keep up the great work!!

Drives, The garden is the wifes domain I just due the tilling and water setup.

Sugar Shack work is progressing not as fast as I want but Have 3/4 of the roof system shored back up. Need to get that finished up and out of the yard where it is currently sitting.

For House fires my department sprays water 2-5 times per year on avg. at a sturcture fire like that. Department has 100 calls a year. rough breakdown is 50 house fire stuff or CO alarms or smell of smoke etc. the other 50 are car crash's where we due traffic control or we use the Jaws of Life 2-5 times a year to cut people out of the car. Its you just never know what type of call it will be when the pager goes off.

Busy with alot of stuff but not many pics Sugar Shack Roof is all shored up now up to cleaning it out and then the wife wants a fire resistant floor put in? Thinking just put down some tin? I have a big flat sheet that will cover about 2/3 of the floor and then patch in the rest with flashing. My only thought was then this is gonna be super slipper when wet. So then I'm thinking I may put down some shingles on the walking paths in the shed so that I have traction. if it was me I would just live with the wood floor but she's worried about ember's and ash's from the wood stoves staring it all on fire? This little sugar shack is all on a budget and just trying to keep the cost down. sugar shack on trailer.jpg

then got rained out from working on the sugar shack but had the Daily Driver truck parked out in front of Ye old Garage so I got a pic of that,
Also the little John Deere 140 got put to use on Car Trailer moving. Its way easier to tuck the car trailer back into a spot up next to the yard shed with the little tractor then to have to back it up with the truck. 20220605_084941.jpg20220605_180404.jpg

The shingles will wear, so make them some what removable, but that would be cheap, especially if you already have them. Maybe screwed down?

I was thinking just put them down and put a roofing nail every 4-6 around the edge the roofing nails are easy enough to pull back out if the shingle gets all broken apart but screws would work as well. I have the shingles and don't have any other use for them. I wonder how long I would get out of the shingles before they come apart depends upon how much twisting force they see as your spinning on your foot to get turned around and such? To me its just you have a flat metal surface and add in some melted ice/snow/mud and its gonna be slippery to try and walk on. the Shingles will give me grip and be also water resistant as well. Like I said the wife wants a fire proofish floor to me I would have just used the plywood one that is there and go. but Happy Wife maybe Happy life. I just want to be inside to boil sap next year instead of outside in the cold. Want to get a few extra weekends in on making syrup and this is what I can afford. Plus I think I may pressure wash down the whole inside the shed before starting cooking to get rid or the dust and cob web's and then fire up a stove to dry the place out and then start cooking. I know when I get it emptied out of stuff i'm gonna pressure was the inside and let it dry out then put down the flooring then start moving in stove's and get them setup and secured in place as this is gonna get drugg about 50' for sap making next to house sidewalk then when sugaring is done it'll get drug back to its spot up in the tree line above the hose till the next sugaring season.

start cooling the beer on the drive. that way when you get camp set it up, its already ready, already
Beer was In the out door fridge already cold when left home was still cool 3 hours later when got to campsite. Put a frozen bottle of water in with beer before unhooking power at home to keep cold. I'm good. Just waiting on noon to open the first one today! Most camper setups require 1 cold one but we went to eat at local tavern so I had to wait till supper for my first one of the night. Got back to camp and then got into it! For 1 anyway lol!

Oldest son out of the gate got 23 in a row then missed but finished 24 out of 25 and avg 22 per session for his 4 rounds. had a final of 88 his best yet at state.

Next son shot 34 and 33 also his best showing at state as well. They had fun.

Oldest best friend shot a 25 round so there will be some in your face bragging going on with them for the summer. They still finished with the same overall score.

Kid in the next town over shot a perfect 100 his 2nd year in a row of doing that which is impressive.

but they only shoot 1 day a week so its not like your shooting 50 clay's 3 times a week and can get really dialed in. Plus both just use team guns and some guns are a bit different from each other.
