I found this Weaver WA-75A on Craigslist for $100. Put fluid in it and it worked great, until all the fluid ended up on the floor. Time for a rebuild kit.

Nice Weaver FFRKing, I'm gonna look at a 4 ton Blackhawk 4s on Monday on CL ,it ain't close but will make a nice road trip. Once I get it I might try to do a rebuild myself or bring it in to a hydraulic shop near me and then a paint job.

I have a weaver 4 ton that I've used once or twice a year. I had a new seal put on it 2 years ago, so I've only used it a handful of times. I went to use it the other day and it worked fine. I went to use it this morning, and it doesn't want to pump up. I use the foot petal or arm and it goes up and down up and down,, it slowly raises but it takes forever.
I read on the Castle equipment site, how to purge any air, lifting the arm all the way up (manually), engage the release valve, and hold the foot petal down. I did that 3 or 4 times, no difference. I also checked the fluid, although the maintenance guy I used to replace the seal used transmission fluid, it looked plenty full.

Any suggestions? Draining that jack is a nightmare from my memory.

Got this today (bringing it home soon), will need to source a rebuild kit I believe. Where can I look for model number? Serial is intact and theres writing on the base of the hande that read 22(?)650, and a build date 12-74. Looking for any info, will read through this thread more later.

Awesome, have fun moving it, make sure it is blocked or strapped. The walkers are a good mix of style yet still practical to use today, unlike blackhawk.

I like the way it looks, and after going through a few pages of this thread I believe it to be a J132. Best part is it only ran me $20 :D

I'll have to mess around with it to get it blocked though, no good way to strap it down in the back of my truck.

Hi all, checking in from sunny Arizona. I have an old Walker "Lift A Car" #767. I am trying to revive it and I am in the need of a couple mounting bolts, that mount the hydraulic ram from the side.It is basically a shoulder bolt with the following dimensions: 7/8hex head, shoulder dia. .715", shoulder length .450", bolt length 1.15" with a 5/8-18 thread. See pics. Any help would be appreciated and I have exhausted, buying one, as it is non standard size.

Just picked up this one but I can't read the tag. Any ideas?

It is leaking a bit, previous owner said he did the seals himself a few years ago so I'm worried what he might have 'fixed'.

Short of having them machined, you could buy some 5/8-18 bolts and use a spacer in place of the shoulder on the bolt. It isn't perfect, but it's an inexpensive alternative to having them machined.

Here's something close that you could cut/turn/grind to length.

I just scored a Walker Roll-A-Car model 784 yesterday. The jack was listed on Craigslist and the seller turned out to be a coworker! The saddle will pump up slightly without a load but immediately starts sinking. I plan to get the hydraulics working again so I can use this monster, then work on paint this winter.

Many thanks to all for the wealth of knowledge on here that I have gleaned so far for this project and inspiration for my garage and shed. I will definitely be using Hiball's instructions to check the hydraulics so I can get a parts list together.

I see yellow on the handle, but I think the top should be a dark blue or black from what I've read so far. I'm shooting for a close match to the original blue with white trim.

I noticed the Series letter on the tag is stamped out with an "X" and a "C" was stamped in the box at the end of the row. Any thoughts on why that was done?

With those old heavy jacks you don't have to worry about people wanting to borrow them.

I have a Blackhawk S-4. I told a guy once that if he could load it into his truck by himself and without the use of any lifting device, he could have it. Like I said, "I have a Blackhawk S-4"

Seeing all these old Jacks makes me want to dig my grand dad's out of the shed and rebuild it. Can't remeber what kind it is. It works fine but leaks as it sits. Probably just needs new seals and o rings.

An original lens is unobtainium. You basically have to stumble across a jack that has one an steal it. A GJ member posted in one of the S4 threads about making one. I don't remember which thread though. For the light itself, a free HF flash light can be turned into a very effective light.

Hi All,

I'm trying to find some information on my recently acquired Blackhawk service jack. It's an S-1 and from a 1933 catalog image a member here posted, it was offered for sale for $36 (in today's money that would be around $650.) I haven't found a info plate on it, the only numbers are S1.101 on one frame plate, and S1.102 on the other.

My guess is that this is the first hydraulic jack that Blackhawk made. Anyone know how long before it was replaced by the S2?

As far as "worth" is concerned, I realize that anything is only worth what someone will give you for it, but I don't even know what ballpark we're talking, or how to market it. Another big question for me is whether I should restore it or leave it as-is. It works perfectly fine so I wouldn't rebuild the pump, I'm only thinking of a cosmetic make-over. I bought an S4 the week before the S1, and they're common enough that I wouldn't worry about painting it if I want to, but I've been scouring the interwebs and have found exactly zero other S1's. Makes me wonder just how rare an item it is...

I'm betting that if anyone knows about these old jacks, dollars-for-donuts he's a member here, so how's about it? What say the jury?

Thanks in advance!
Pix? Yes, of course:

It's a Weaver, I've seen jacks posted on here with the front fenders such as yours. Also the Weavers have a distinctive side profile. Our resident jack guru Highball has mentioned they're his favorite jacks so I'd say you got a good one.

Check out the thread "Show off your Jacks" post 331 to see another Weaver like yours.

What would you guys value a weaver wa72b at? Seems like it's in decent condition, probably needs to be rebuilt but says it works and not terrible looking

Hello GJ,
In yet another example of how this forum makes you obsessively look for things you never knew you needed, I just yesterday checked another box off my Garage Bucket/Holy Grail list. Blackhawk SJ-18. I saw the craigslist ad and could hardly believe it, I have not seen one locally (NJ/NYC) in over two years of looking. So after an hour drive and way over-paying, I had a working SJ-18 complete except for one missing caster. The seller, apparently surprised I was willing to drive and pay for his rusty old Jack told me of a friend nearby who had a similar one. Second one is functional but missing both casters (replaced by cheap dolly wheels) and the main body cover plate. Hoping some of the experts here can help me locate these parts. Thank you again folks, hope to document the restos.
MADC
In a perfect world need three wheels like the one pictured but would happily buy 4, and the main cover? shot in the dark I know. Thank you again

I recently picked up this mechanical (ratcheting?) type of floor jack. I cant find any labels or such, other than the few markings in the 2nd picture. Anyone have any info on manufacturers or specs?

Just finished up my Walker 884 restoration.

Pictures of the Jack when I picked it up:

A couple of things I noticed at first, the handle had two pieces of 3/8" plate crudely welded to it, the rear casters needed new bronze linings and the hydraulic unit needed to be rebuilt as the unit could lift the lifting pad but was leaking when I tried to lift any weight.

Some pics of the dirt that accumulated over time:

Onto rebuilding the rear casters:

I purchased some 5/8" high strength-easy-to-machine steel to then turn down to .4960" for the axles

Testing the axle

Task complete

Turning down the 3/4" oil impregnated bronze for the liners

Onto rebuilding the hydraulic unit:

Taken apart

New seal kit from Hiball

The sludge inside the reservoir

The leather cup seals were the issue

Painting parts:
Primer

Enamel

Installing Bronze Liners:
I used a 5/8" reamer to make sure the ID of the wheels are true

Installed

After that I put the jack back together, after a little adjustment here's the payoff, lifting my '95 GMC Daily Driver:

Restoration complete:

I just wanted to thank BB767 and Hiball for their help!

Thanks for looking!
Same to get it dirty!
I have a Walker trolley jack 770 a Where did you find your parts?
