Freecash seems to be awarded based on activity - so if you don't buy anything for two weeks, your freecash will expire and not be replaced. Buy something and you will get more freecash offers.

While that usually happens, the last 2 or 3 purchases I've made did not give me a single new offer...

They might be letting them expire in anticipation for Memorial Day Weekend in a couple weeks?

I have made at least 1 purchase every 2 weeks for like the last 3 months. However, all my free cash offers ran out last week and I have not received any new ones in the last 5 days. I guess I should have used my points I had earned during the friends and family sale when I still have offers and could have at least gotten an extra c3 19volt battery for $40 for the big one. Now the price on those is up and I have no offers to go with my other cash points.

All my points are good for a years since they were from a refund of a purchase so guess I will wait for some up coming holiday sales.

Will be weird not having something from Sears showing up every 2 week but my wallet might be happier.

I was only getting a handful of less desirable Freecash offers, bought the lawnmower, and am now getting the usual number. Maybe there is a dollar amount required on purchase to reactivate the offers?

I looked at the "Hot Buys for Tools" today and out of 111 only 6 of them were from Sears the others were from "other" sellers..... No points back on them.

The Sears Daily Deals have been an interesting way to monitor the progress of the company.

A couple years ago, I first saw a third-party seller item mixed in with the daily deals. Just one item like that didn't bother me.

Further down the road, Sears was using third-party sellers for half the daily deals. That was when I really began to worry.

Now things are truly bleak. You can find only one item sold by Sears for a daily deal, or sometimes none.

My last in-store purchase on May 8 triggered several decent offers and coupons that I'll be using over the next several weeks. Then while browsing sears.com last night, it seemed to trigger a $10 off $100+ to get added to my account too (I'm not going to be able to use that one, lol), there was a message that appeared about it when I was on some random tool product page. I haven't made any unusually-large purchases lately, and have continued spending little-to-nothing out of pocket.

Sometimes online purchases will trigger offers too, but if your offers have dried up and you still have a nearby corporate store, try making an in-store purchase if you haven't recently. :)

BTW, the offer system has been acting up since last night. If you do have offers that you know should still be in your account, they might not be working today. Test in your cart before going in-store.

Thanks again — this was well packed for shipment. Excellent deal for $100 w/ $50 in points.

In contrast the $100 Sandusky taupe cabinet in the background was delivered with only honeycomb cardboard covering the corners — the second one I had ordered was totalled by UPS.

Sweet! :shocking: Looks like some orders were fulfilled before they caught on.

I think that I read something several years ago indicating that is their ultimate long-term plan... the third-party sellers are supposed to fill the void left by real Sears disappearing. Eventually all the physical stores will be gone, SYW will just be a way for other companies to advertise, and Sears.com will just be a way for other companies to sell stuff. We still have some time before the "transformation" is complete, though. Could be several years.

The "dried up offers" are the result of Sears grasping their last breaths..... Looks like the end is here.

I dunno about that. I can not read into the future, but willing to bet that Sears will be around until end of the year 2018, so I do not think the end is near.

They got all that money for selling Craftsman, though I'm sure they burned through it pretty quick.

Sears will wheel & deal until the end...

Not sure if it has been posted already, but my local Sears has the Picquic Dash 7 for $7, good deal and better than Amazon. Had a big dosplayby the cash register in the tool section.

K-mart Item

Good price to begin with, its cheaper than Amazon, but if you can get it in-store with that $10 going, it's almost a no-brainer if you have 2/4-cycle engines (and don't buy rec-gas). Great product. I figured it was snake oil, but bought a bottle and our backpack blower sounds like it has a speed 11, or more like when we originally bought it.

Startron Gas Treatment 32 oz (if you ever compare to 8oz size, that is a much weeker strength)

If anyone has a nearby Kmart and doesn't know what $10 he's talking about, details are here in the SYW thread. :)

It $7 even at my Sears (Pompano Beach, FL), they have a couple dozen right at the register. So even better 99c in my pocket :)

Nice. In-store prices sometimes beat the online prices, and there's no way to know without stumbling across it in person.

Thanks Gentlemen! Something new from Sears I want to purchase. I have a few $5 off coupons from store pickups that took longer than 5 min. Shows my local store has them in stock. I'll have to grab a couple to stash in the glovebox.

Oregon 18" Chain Saw Chain - $8.39

http://www.sears.com/oregon-18-in-91-low-profile-trade-chain-s63/p-07103631000P

I was looking for something to spend my $5 off $10 in FreeCash on... and saw that Oregon chain saw blades are heavily discounted. I picked this one up for my 18" Craftsman electric chain saw (along with a filler) for $5 and change. Several others are also deeply discounted.

Oddly (or maybe not, as it's Sears), searching for "Oregon" only brought up a few... but if you browse the "Chain Saw Parts & Accessories" category, you'll see many more... maybe because they title the part as "Craftsman" in the description?

Yeah, I don't know why they have so many of them misbranded in the website data when the photos clearly show they're all Oregon, lol. Here's a link to see all the sizes:
http://www.sears.com/lawn-garden-ou...ent Chain&filterList=Brand|Type&searsTab=true

Also worth noting that when I went to look at these products, it caused a one-day-only online-only $20 off $75+ Lawn & Garden freecash surprise points offer to be added to my account.

I've been struggling to come up with something in the not-much-over-$10 price point that I need/want, to use my $5 off $10 on... I've decided on the 22" Permanex box... don't have a specific use for it at the moment, but I'm sure it'll come in handy for something eventually, and these are great boxes (I have some in other sizes).

$10.99 regularly, $10.59 barely-on-sale

I have one somewhere. Thought I store longer bits & blades in it. Never happened. Good/decent build though, at least when I got it.

I ended up going with the Kenmore stainless smoker box (good reviews) & some cherry wood chips. cheap way to try something new

received my Dickies tape mesaure holder pouch. Wish I got a different model. Would be a pain to put an actual tape measure in it

i bought a chain at sears.com about a year and half ago and it was 23.99. Today it is $8. Lower than homedepot.com's price.

thanks for the post. got my chain for $5 after using $5 off $10

Edit: looks like this is being driven by amazon partly. same chain was $9 there. Maybe some sort of pricematching by sears.

Is that this one? http://www.sears.com/dickies-tape-holder/p-00945798000P

It would be nice if they had these Dickies items in stores, it is hard to get a good idea of how things fit in them just from the product photos. I'm guessing it's just sized for typical 25ft tape measures, wouldn't fit longer ones or the Craftsman Sidewinder models?

Got my 22" box this evening, but d'oh, they're $9.99 in store right now, so I had to hunt around for a filler unexpectedly. Trying to stay as close to $10 as possible since I have several more offers I need to use soon. The $0.99 keychains have disappeared at my store. :( I settled on a 5-pack of Stanley utility knife razorblades with rounded tips, $1.99 on sale for $1.52, the last pack in the store of those.

The 12" and 17" Permanex boxes are also all on sale in-store for $1 below their regular prices (I thought, until I double-checked the regular prices for this post - I think the smallest one is actually $2 off). I believe the sale runs from Sun May 13 through Sat May 26. Online prices are higher on all 3 sizes.

$6.99 in-store sale, $8.99 reg http://www.sears.com/craftsman-12inch-utility-case/p-00965284000P
$7.99 in-store sale, $8.99 reg http://www.sears.com/craftsman-17inch-compact-truck-box/p-00965117000P
$9.99 in-store sale, $10.99 reg http://www.sears.com/craftsman-22inch-standard-truck-box/p-00965119000P

The purchase generated several more offers... $10 off $25 in tools for next week (that's a good one, might have to give up my $7 off $35 in lieu of it), a lame home department coupon, and a $5 off $35.

If anyone's interested in Yost vises, I happened to notice this one is at the lowest price around at the moment. Most reviews are positive, but depends on your intended use. It is small, and can dent what it's clamped to.

Sears says $40 regular price (Amazon says $33); $20.99 online sale; ship-to-store eligible

It will look good next to the 125# Yost on my bench I have now!

Got this from a deal posted here a few years ago.

Didn't pay a lot for it. Check out the retail price on it.

Impressive!

Found it now that I had the model number - going for $800 on Amazon.

And there is still one even larger that they make... #208, 180lbs, going for $2100.

Just got these delivered yesterday and wow they're really nice, grabbing a second set because they're a deal at $6 shipped!

Thanks again for the find!

You're welcome, but I can't take the credit. When there was this discussion a year or so ago some other member posted a link to those. I bought a set and I've been very pleased with them. They are my go-to for everything.

Was able to get a Rockwell Tools Bench Grinder for $20 shipped. Will be used every now and then, certainly feels sturdier than the WEN-branded one

I never understand why I can not buy online and pick this up at local store, but I can do that if I want to pick up at different hometown store, 40 min away, in smaller city. I been wanting one, but not going to drive 40 min to get there, and 40 min back just for $10 box.

Annoying :lol_hitti

Bought this last night. Seems pretty decent for $12.71.
