Don't hold your breathe on made in USA.... a lot of those pictures are just not updated

Yes, on products with enough volume of reviews, there will often be multiple complaints, often over multiple years, about photos not being updated when COO and/or product design changes. The only way to be completely sure what you're getting is to pick it out in person.

Another one of those 12-installment deals, this time on Sears Auto (tires, car batteries, wipers, oil, filters, etc). Started last week but I don't recall it being posted yet. Can't be sure Sears will last through all 12 months, but if it's stuff you need anyway and you're already committed to other installment points deals, might as well. Just don't pay for any 'lifetime' service agreements. ;)

https://www.searsauto.com/offers/3387/members-get-300-cashback-in-points-over-12-months

" Members get $300 CASHBACK in points for $300 or more spend at Sears. Points issued in 12 equal monthly installments [of $25 each] and are only valid for 30 days of issuance. Excludes Laufenn tires. Offer valid 9/16/18 through 10/6/18. First installment of points credited to account 24 hours after transaction and valid for 30 days. Subsequent installments of points issued every 15th of each month starting 10/15/18. Points valid for 30 days. Max $300 total in points per member. Maximum $300 in points per Member. Offer not valid with any other offer. Purchase requirement before taxes and after other discounts and must be made in a single transaction. "

i havent price checked their tires, but if they were in the ballpark or i could upgrade brands for the same price id be down for a set of rubbers.

and i got my 24" CM level yesterday. i hate the anodized red color, but other than that, looks like a decent quality item. well worth the $0 i paid ;)

just within the last few hours the Jacks are back down to $23. Not the $21 they got down to, but $23 is still a GREAT deal.

https://www.sears.com/craftsman-professional-4-ton-jack-stands-one/p-00950163000P?rrec=true

I know some mentioned them getting rid of the professional Jack's, and should get some if they are thinking on it. I was sort of under the impression they were USA made. So I ordered one set, and picked up last night to see China made. I'm not surprised, but not sprinting to replace my current set of stands with these. Is China the coo for everyone else?

On a positive note from Sears. The order I placed on Sept 25 at 0103 hours for the F & F deal. I have received 5 out of 6 items. The Knipex tool is coming from Knipex like all the others I have received in the past.

The first item was the Channellock 14” Nutbuster which was delivered by UPS on Sept 25 just prior to 1300 hours. Sent from Stone Mountain GA to just outside of Washington DC.
12 hours. I was surprised along with the UPS driver when I told him when I ordered it.
The other items were shipped from Illinois and were delivered by 1330 hours on Sept 26.

In addition with the order I received 3 coupons for $5off$20 and $10 off $40 or $50.

Has anyone kept track Of how often the F&F event (or whatever it’s called this week) is offered? I’m thinking it’s roughly every 4-5 weeks.

Thanks

I can't remember the last time this model # was made in USA (if ever).

I know on rare occasion the set has dropped down to $19.99, and the all-time-low is probably the $17.99 early this year.

EDIT: Craftsman Professional pry bars, wire cutters, and retaining ring pliers are still made in USA (last I checked).

Family & Friends events usually run through Tuesday online, but that last event was called a Member event and ran through Monday online. So maybe they have a separate F&F coming up. :dunno:

i feel it's longer than that, like 6-8 weeks. but you could be right.

On a different note, a few weeks ago, I bought their Roadhandler set of 4 tires for our minivan. The tires had DOT date code of 2014. i protested but eventually kept them. I had to go back for re-balance as the steering wheel vibrated very bad at 75 mph ish. Yet they said you weren't supposed to drive at that speed :shocking: It's hard to trust them when they could not even get the tire pressure right - my passenger side tires were inflated to 46 psi when the spec called for 36!

I placed an order over $75 on the last day of F&F... Sears cancelled the most expensive of the 3 items on the order, killing the $75 points promo, and free shipping, and still shipped the other 2 items. ..

the schedule / term are all there if you click on the offer. you get 1st $25 the next day or when item's picked up. Easiest way is to login to your shopyourway account / Points, it'll show up there as pending with availability dates.

That happened to me once... I contacted them via Chat. They added the points that I should have gotten to my account. I was all ready to threaten to refuse delivery, return the items, contact my credit card company... but they took care of it without any fuss.

I haven't been keeping track particularly... you could dig backwards through this thread to find when I/others have posted about each of them if you want. I do have a note that I got price adjustments on a couple recent purchases on Aug 11 that had dropped by 10%, so there was probably one then. I also did a price adjustment on Aug 30, but I'm not sure if that was just a random sale on that item or another 10% off everything F&F-type event.

Got an email telling me an item I was looking at has dropped in price.

3-pc 1/2" extension set for $15.74.

https://www.sears.com/craftsman-3-pc-extension-bar-set-1-2-in/p-00943283000P?plpSellerId=Sears&prdNo=3&blockNo=3&blockType=G3

What was interesting was the photo of the packaging. Note the Made in USA logo on the hang tag.

Yeah. I ordered them and went to pick up - sure enough, they were in the plastic pouch, with made in China on the back.

It seems to me the packaging with the Made in USA on the flag background is new? I don't remember that from back in the day.

Sears sent me an email "Lucky duck! Your items dropped in price". Can be very helpful except the items on that email are not what I been looking/reviewing. I never looked at Women's Plus bikini buttoms :lol_hitti

I have a long list in "Saved for Later". Easy enough to just pull the data from that list... smh..

The 48" level is back on sale too, but not so good, $29.48 down from the $32.99 full price it was at for the past couple days. Right direction but a ways to go...

Hexen, my 48" craftsman level came in yesterday to my new local store, I picked it up today......let me tell you, it might cost $4-7 more than the Johnson one, but the Craftsman one is gorgeous. That deep crimson and black is worth the extra few dollars. Get off some of those points and buy it!!!

I just purchased the Gearwrench version from Amazon instead. Looks almost identical.

Yes, I was advised to get one of those (here)

Good to hear. I'll see where it's at on Sunday when SYW hopefully sends me my weekly sweepstakes bonus. The good news is, it looks like it has been restocked at my local store now; this past week it was in ship-to-store mode.

2manytools,
I ordered the rethread kit and have NOT gotten it yet. I have been given 3 different dates it should be in, but they've all come and gone. Don't have much hope of getting it.

Check in store price on the 48" at your local store on the price checker.

Today at the Sears near me (not store closing, yet) they were coming up $14.95.

What was weird was they didn't have a sale sticker, the normal black/white tag on the peg was actually printed that price. Unless you track prices you'd never know it was a deal.

Should I see anything about the $75 for $75 after checkout? I don’t see anything but .69c in points. Not even a mention.
should have said it before and after checkout. something didnt qualify or you used a coupon that dropped your order below $75 OOP pretax. id double check the order and if should have qualified, chat with a rep soon before the order ships so you can fix it.

Ooh, great find. I didn't see this until too late to go today (Sunday) with their short hours, but I will check it out on Monday for sure! Hopefully that in-store price will continue tomorrow. The online price just dropped to $25.71 today.
