I just started a couple years ago, and I can't believe how much I use it and how naked I feel without it.

I carry the Milwaukee Tanto blade and this style is the bomb-diggity for me; I use it just as much as a pry bar, gasket scraper or saw as a knife so the Tanto is perfect w an angular front edge and serrations at the rear

I haven't always carried one, just the last 50-60 years........... before that not so much. I have numerous knives, but I carry a small Klein with a rosewood inlay daily.

In an earlier post, I mentioned this knife. It was my first one and I keep it for sentimental value.

You can see the broken "larger" blade. I did that trying to pull a staple out. Lesson learned.

I carry a USA Scharde 34OT. It’s always in one of 2 places. My hand or my pocket. Never set a knife down or you will lose it. I’ve carried a knife for 53 years including every day I was in School from 4 th grade on.

Always have a Swiss Army pocket knife in my pocket if I'm away from home. Probably started in college, so well over 40 years.

Every day of my life since the 3rd grade. I found the pocket knife my parents gave me my first year in Cub Scouts (1964?)

Swiss army knife. Use it all the time moslty for opening boxes, beer and wine bottles. It was a trade show gift so if I forget and the TSA takes it, no big deal.

I have carried since I was 8, had to give my Grandpa a penny for it. Told me he could not give me a knife, but had to sale it to me. Something about bad luck to give a person something sharp.

Unless I'm going to a place with a metal detector I have a knife on me. Even if I'm going to a place that I can't carry one, I lock it up in the vehicle until I come back out.

I carry a Leatherman Juice CS4 and a Spyderco Paramilitary 2. The Juice is nice with the corkscrew since I work at a farm winery. Had the Spyderco for a few months now. But I have all sorts I've carried over the years, Kershaws, Benchmade Mini-Grip, Ontario Rat 1, Spyderco Tenacious. I'm a knife guy. Just started getting into traditional knives too. Picked up a couple Case knives for my birthday this year.

Schrade Old Timer.
Managed to hang onto this one since 1983.
I think they used to be guaranteed against loss!

Have always had one for at least the last 10 years. Use it daily. Have had kershaw for the most part but thanks to this thread I just ordered a benchmade that I’ve been meaning to get...

I have a assortment of Schrade "old Timers", different sizes, all older ones that were made in the US before they went to China. Depends what I plan to do each day depends on which size I carry.

I’d rather cry twice. Once when I buy it and once when I lose it instead of crying every time I have to use that piece of cheap ****.

I carry a handgun. I’m not bringing a knife to a gunfight. I’ve carried since 1997, when I turned 21. I also daily carry a Fenix PD25 flashlight. I already feel like Batman with all the **** on my belt and in my pockets (wallet, keys, personal phone, work phone, pistol, flashlight), I don’t want to carry anything more.

I occasionally carry a Benchmade assisted folding knife or a Gerber multitool, but only when I specifically anticipate a need for it. My wife keeps a standard pocket knife in her purse, I have borrowed her knife many times.

I would walk the streets like i was going to war if it was legal in NJ. Drive back from Queens to NJ during rush hour a few times - and you’ll understand why its not legal to carry here.

About 10 years ago, a buddy who I grew up with had went out to the bar and had a tad bit too much to drink to drive home. The redneck that he is, he decided to just sleep in his truck bed verses calling someone to come pick him up. Sometime in the middle of the night he woke up to some dude who is yelling at him to give him his money and the dude is holding a knife. My buddy refuses to give the guy anything so the guy slashes him on the arm with the knife. At that point, my buddy pulls a pretty decent sized folding knofe he had in his pocket and a knife fight proceeds....the thug lost his life that night. My buddy went through alot of interrogations for many months before they finally decided that they had nothing more to go off of other than the story of one of two people who were there that night and still alive.
It pays to always carry a gun but if ya can’t, at least carry a knife. I’ve carried a knife and I’ve always made sure that at least one is of enough size that it can double as personal protection from man or animal if the need arises.

I've had a little Leatherman micra in my pocket for the last 22yrs. Handy little guy!

I have to start carrying my leatherman again.. i had a surge, some ******* at work stole it.. i have the wave too, but its broken and getting me to fill out a form and ship something somewhere is like asking someone to donate a kidney. I am growing tired of having people follow me around at work, always asking for the tools that only “I” bother to bring inside - and then I’m the ******* walking around twice as much cause I’m left empty handed.

Most of my life I have had a knife. Mostly a folder on my belt. Now I have a multi tool and a folder.
Had pocket knives but the wear on my jeans made me stop. On my bag I have a clip on also.
I like options.

Well I had a Spyderco Endura 4, but it's been a couple months since I've seen it. Damn shame, I really liked that knife. Which is why I can't have expensive knives. I should have known better but I've wanted a Spyderco since forever. Now I'm glad I didn't spring for a Benchmade.

My work edc is one of those cheap Sheffield lockback utility knives. Of course I've had this thing over 10 years without once misplacing it, although I did have one a couple years prior to that and lost it. Also lost a nice CRKT folder, a Buck, a Boy Scout knife, a bunch of fillet knives in fishing mishaps, my ex gf stole my favorite kitchen knife (Victorinox) thankfully didn't slash my throat and/or tires with it. There are possibly others.

I have a few knives that are nice but they don't go out the door, which is why I still have them. My parents bought me a Swiss army knife when they visited Switzerland, mostly sentimental stuff like that.

They really ain't that bad. Not a quality piece but good enough for a utility knife. I go thru them about every two months before that cheap ******* jumps out of my pocket.

Every day, every where I'm able to carry. Even in a suit, just clipped in a different spot then.

Benchmade Warn Barrage for the last 5+ years. May upgrade to an auto soon as I've recently broken the very tip off...

Which bench made do you recommend?

I've had a mini Griptilian for 5 years or more. I have it on me all the time. It's been hidden in shrubbery, behind concrete columns in a parking garage - when we go to an event where it's not allowed I have to hide it somewhere. I never remember to leave it at home, unless I'm flying. I know I will loose it to TSA one day.

Great medium size knife BTW. Holds an edge wonderfully.

Mini Barrage here. Had a $40 Kershaw confiscated a few months ago and jumped on the Benchmade wagon. Holds an edge so much better than the Kershaw did. The Benchmade isn't near as one hand friendly as the Kershaw was closing, but its such a better knife. No regrets. I'd buy it all over again.

Love my mini barrage for EDC. Best price when I bought was Optics Planet.

Current knife is a three blade Buck. I carried a Craftsman for years, but misplaced it for a few years, and now it seems too large to comfortably carry. Cell phones became generally available while it was awol, so pocket space is at more of a premium than it once was.

I lost several to the TSA in the interim, so I quit carrying a knife for several years.

No more business travel, so the knife is back.

Also lost one down the wall when fishing electrical cable.

I'm another one of those that carries a Swiss Army Knife. But mine is blue! It was given to me about 25 years ago, with some company's logo on it, but that's long since worn off, although the Victorinox emblem is still there.

Plus I have a similar red knife (but with saw blade instead of scissors) given to me in the early 70's by my father, and carried by me up until I got the blue one.

And a third one, also given to me by my father, 2" fat with my name engraved in it. Much too heavy to carry around.
