Yep I always have my knife. Right now it's a Benchmade Precipice dual action OTF. Use it daily to cut open packaging, mail, cut my lunch, all kinds of things.

For about the last 40 years I have carried a knife everyday with the few exceptions of not being able to carry it some places.

As a kid about age 9, I stayed with a family while my parents worked afternoon shift, they ran a family farm. One day, Fred got some farm mail and in one of the envelopes was a yellow pocket knife. He asked me if I had one and I said no. He gave me that knife and I carried it till the day I broke one of the blades prying with it.

That knife taught me two things I have remembered since then getting it. The first is to always carry a knife and the second was to NOT pry with a knife blade. A few months ago, I was going through some stuff in the garage and found that knife. I stuck it above the workbench where I see it many times a week while working out there.

I always have a knife within reach, whether it is in my pocket, on my belt, or simply sitting on my desk.

I find it funny that once its known that you have knives/tools in the workplace people start stopping by and asking to borrow.

Always. Benchmade Automatic clipped in my pocket, and a small Swiss knife in my pocket. I pretty much always have a knife and a flashlight on me.

One trip for airline travelers: Get one of those padded shipping envelopes, address it to yourself, and get postage on it to mail your knife back home. I keep one in my EDC backpack that I take everywhere, so if I forget to remove a knife, I can mail it home to myself instead of donating it to the TSA.

I used to carry a "managers toolbox" aka Leatherman Micra and then the Squirt that had the mini pliers. Then my job changed to a traveling job which caused me to give up the EDC for 5 years. I thought about carrying a Milwaukee Fastback with the blade removed but never did. Instead I found a decent plastic camp spork because I always needed something for eating.

Now I'm back in a plant full time, I have a Milwaukee Fastback folder with a straight blade, and an Opinel No. 8 stainless at the desk. Probably start carrying the mini Leatherman again when I can remember.

I got my first folder when I was about 9 or 10 - my mom gave it to me after finding it in the trunk of an aunt's old car (I think). That knife is still around somewhere. Had a friend gift me a really nice - for the time - folding Kershaw when I was in junior high and was doing Search & Rescue. I learned the value of a good knife back then, and have always had one since. Couldn't carry in high school, but always had one in college. Currently there are a dozen or so on top of my dresser. I pick the knife that fits best with the occasion and location.

Interesting for this to come up. A friend on FB just posted a link to an article on this - http://appalachianmagazine.com/2018...SnDSIdhnt9bWuijkXav2E7-M57dby49xh0Qr_vIvkDU4g .

Still need a good every day pocket flashlight. Haven't found one that feels right.

Everyday for about 25 years now. I've been in plenty of situations where I was the only one in a group of people that had a knife when one was needed. I switched to inexpensive knives a few years ago because then you don't mind letting someone borrow it too much. There's a least one knife in every vehicle and room. They're a cheap tool no one should be without.

I have never been without one since I was eight years old. Even if I have to fly somewhere, I will buy a cheap one when I get there and give it away before I leave. I carry only high quality knives and I wear them out regularly. Spyderco has been my go to for a long time now. They last longer than any others I've used and I really like how they work.

I carry a Leatherman Wave every day. If on the off chance I don't have it in I carry a Case Trapper. I'm also quite proud to say you won't catch my 20 year old son without one either.

Benchmade currently. Lost the damn thing a few weeks back and felt naked...and stupid. Young son must have felt sorry for me and bought me an identical replacement.

Used to keep a Swiss Army knife on my key ring but it fell out of my pocket and got run over by a truck and smashed to bits. Both of these incidents within the last year. Not a real good track record lately.

Every day I have a Leatherman Skeletool and Style CS, both are small and easy to carry, but have a great range of tools. Use both multiple times a day.

Some of my friends used to make fun of me for it, until they need to open a package, need a pair of scissors, or more importantly open a beer!

Yep. Everyday.

Past few months the Milwaukee Hardline 48-22-1998 has been my go to. Only con is the D2 seems to take a little longer to sharpen than other knives I own.

For years I mostly carried my CRKT M14T, but it is just a little bigger than need be most the time.

I have a brass Otter Mercator that I carry whenever I wear suits or go on business trips because it is much more presentable/ less tactical looking when I pull it out. For whatever reason people are usually shocked when they see a pocket knife but they're always glad I had one on me.

Lots of other knives but those are the big three.

I don't know what I would do without one. I use it daily, and everybody always seems to need to borrow it. I have carried one daily for as long as I can remember. I use it as a knife, screwdriver, prybar, pick, and everything else. The one I currently have in my pocket is a Spyderco.

If I have anything more than underwear on, I have a knife on me. Benchmade here, larger Spyderco sits next to it as a back up.

Like others, I feel naked without one.

Victorinox on my keychain, Leatherman multitool in my office desk. I use the little Vicky routinely and wonder how others get along without a knife on board.

Each kid (3 boys, 3 girls) received a Victorinox multiblade (Tinker, I think) for their 12th birthday. All the boys cut themselves in the first month or so. . .

Sometimes I'll leave my pistol at home but I never leave my knife. I'm using it right now while at work.

Southern grind bad monkey. Absolutely love it.

Yes, everyday, and I think most folks I know do!

My grandfather was a London policeman for many years, and he wouldn’t go out without his First World War vintage jack knife any more than he’d go out without his trousers!

I have a selection of popular ones that tend to get rotated according to needs! Even in the hot weather when I’m not wearing a coat I’ll usually have at least a slim but full sized Victorinox in my trouser pocket. If I’ve got a coat I’ll usually carry a bigger Swiss Army Knife there, as well as a substantial English or German single blade!

If I’m doing something mucky I just carry an inexpensive British army jack knife. They’re quite tough but the better ones have nicely ground blades and take a good edge!

I used to work as a Flying instructor and a decent knife really was essential. That was back when Leatherman tools and suchlike were just appearing, but I used to be amazed how many students had the latest massive Leatherman... but then left it in their flight bags in the clubroom! A simple knife with a sharp main blade and screwdrivers, that you have with you, is far more useful than the biggest multitool that you don’t!

Yup, since I was a kid (long while back)

I rotate (from Small to large) a Spyderco Cricket, Microtech Mini Socom (old 1997 version) and a Zero Tolerance 620CF

Depends on where and what I'm wearing.

Usually a sliding Stanley knife and a gerber paraframe. This is my third paraframe, snapped the end off the first one prying with it, second one was a larger one and just too big, third is the 3" model same as before and perfect as a pocket knife.

Yes. Can’t take one to work anymore but I have it any other time. I have a nice little collection to choose from. Everything from a Tiny toothpick to a Junglas. Lately have been carrying my CTS-204p Military a lot.
