It's a 12' x 36' horse barn. I'm only putting a floor in one end which was the existing tack shed. It's a pole barn made of 6"x6" posts. Pole barn is the correct description. I had to use it to relay the correct information. Strange place to put your foot down weirdo.

Thank you for the reply. I was hoping to make the floor easily removable for concrete in the future, but I believe it would be a better idea to replace the 2"x 6" perimeter with 2"x 8" pressure treated, then use the 2"x 6" boards as floor joists. There will be hangers on all of the 2"x 6"...

I totally agree. In this case I decided to put the money toward some nice powered respirators instead. It took about 5 hours to build the box with some simple tools.

It sounds like you are referring to a grill cleaning brick. They are made of a very light pumice stone, and put off a sulfer like odor when used. I have never seen the material in sheets though.

That sounds like a real PITA. I don't see the 2x6 method eliminating any issues. It will need some sort of support in the middle to keep it from flexing. Especially if you are using 3/8" - 1/2" plywood. 3/4" plywood would eliminate the flex, but it is going to be very expensive. I've got no...
