Lets take a look at Metal Shapers

Bought mine about 14 years ago and made sure it worked then put it in the back of my shop where it never got used. My thread about what type of attachment is this ended up with it being a clapper for a very large shaper. So I searched for a thread about the various metal shapers, didn't see one...

What machine would this Spindle be from?

Weighs around 60# and the spindle is 9" long tapers from 1-3/4 to 1-1/2. The odd part is that it pivots just shy of 90`. There is a 3/8" keyway in the spindle. Seems to be from a milling device. Doubt that I'll ever use it but it is a good weight to hold things down. Your thoughts. Movin/on

Are shell reamers still in use?

Quite a few year ago I was asked to clean out a closed down ship repair shop and I got to take whatever I wanted except power equipment. It ended up being a huge haul. These shell reamers were scattered all over the place so I crated them up and brought them home. I've got additional but here is...

Changing the bolt pattern on Ford 9" axles

I've go quite a few 31 spline 9" axles with the 5.5 bolt pattern. They are cheap and plentiful. But I want to change them to the Ford-Chrysler 5X4.5 BP. I've got a drill press and some of the adapters to put 5.5 BP wheels on the 4.5 axles. So my thought is to use the adapter for a pattern and...

Converting a 4 wire extension cord to 3 wire

I'm going to be using a 10 gauge 4 wire RV cord to run a 10 amp 220 V motor and wonder what is the best way to eliminate the 4th wire (assuming it's the white neutral). I'm powering a 30 amp 220V switch for the motor. Do I just eliminate/not use the slot in the extension cord and use only the...

Looking for a 1960's Delta Lathe Tool holder

I purchased two 10" Lathes (Delta and Delta/Rockwell) and ended up with only one tool holder. I can make one but I'd rather just buy one. I'm not willing to pay too much ($50 or so) The attached Scan shows the holder (item 213) Thanks Movin/on

    vintagemachinery.org Amazing reference source

A member here said my Delta and Rockwell 10" Lathe manuals were not there and referenced a source for a South Bend Lathe article on "how to operate a Lathe". Downloaded it for free. Went to the Vintage site and was flabbergasted. My manuals weren't there and contacted them for sending them a...

    Delta 10" Lathe vs Rockwell/Delta 10" lathe

Bought one of each from a local steel supplier and think I can combine parts off both to make one nice lathe. I don't have them here yet but will within a week. Are the parts interchangeable or will it be a "what fits best" scenario? Brought the manuals home today and Delta is 1964 and Rockwell...

Wiring a dual voltage motor 220v and 450v I'm building a movable pump cart for a friend and he bought a new stainless steel pump/motor combo for about $600 to $1000 or so dollars. There were no instructions as to how to wire the pump. This motor has a diagram for the circuit but the verbiage...

Did a search but no results on "hex head tap" Is there a set of hex head drive taps available? What pressure do use for your cabinet blaster?

My current setup has a primary tank (80 gallon) set at 110 psi on and 160 psi off. My 2 secondary tanks (80 gallon each) are at my regulated outlet of 90 psi. Currently my cabinet inlet is a regulated 90 psi so my compressor pump starts more frequently. I've just installed a mag. starter switch...

Radicon- trying to ID the original purpose

I did a web search and Radicon is the gearbox company, on the machine itself I cant find a tag or nameplate. I got this while cleaning out a closed machine shop. It was modified (single purpose) to bend 5/8" rebar for Crab pots in a 3ft. diameter. I am of the impression it originally was used...

Problem with Air compressor control valve.

I've got a IR Rand 4000 5HP compressor setup that's been running great for 15 years I leave it on full time and use it daily. About 2 weeks ago woke up about 2 AM from noise coming from my shop about 125 ft. away and it sounded like someone with a hit and miss engine in my shop. Ran up and found...

Pextco and EasyEdger sheetmetal tool value

Bought these about 8 years ago from a closed down General Contractor (all 3 for $40) and I'm getting ready to refurbish them. Wonder what the value is and what they would be after a total redo of paint and mechanicals with a non-stock color. Green is just wrong in my shop. Hope the pictures...
