    18" adjustable wrench disassembly

Nothing to contribute, but are you taking it apart because it doesn't work well or to make it look "pretty"?

where is the best place to buy bearings?

Needed new bearings for the spindles of my riding mower last year. Went to bearing place because I didn't want junk. He asked if I wanted name brand or generic. I said name brand. I got Timken, but they were made in China.

    Milling Trees Into Lumber/Slabs

FIL in northern Wisconsin would use rip cutoffs usually 1" ish, but didn't seem to have an issue with birds and mice, maybe because we saw a couple snakes come out of the piles when disassembling them.

    Milling Trees Into Lumber/Slabs

People will disagree with me, but I would get the boards milled to 1 1/8" thickness if you want to end up around 3/4". They will shrink thru drying, and the extra thickness will let you work around sawing irregularities, and a little warpage/bowing.

New Home Safe Delivered….where to store the grinders, recip saws etc?

Technically you only need to store or hide the disks. I doubt the thieves will bring their own unless they bring their own grinder. How about putting them in a box that is labeled something unrelated to grinders, such as "rat traps" ,springs, etc?

    DeWalt Cordless String Trimmer

I posted a few years ago about my 20v dewalt. It only lasted about 1 1/2 summers. I let the smoke out of it. I got a dewalt 60 volt and have used it for probably 3 years with good results. The "head" is easy to restring, I only have one battery but I usually get at least 2 uses out of it...

    Are Makita, Milwaukee's seconds?

Like the story our AG teacher would tell in the 70's of how spark plugs purchased at a big box store were seconds.

    Steel City mortiser

I think you could weld one up and make it work without much trouble. Doesn't need to be real precise, and you can file it a little to make it pretty good.

    File handles deserve respect, too!

I looked at mine today. One has curved teeth, but the other has "rasp" teeth different on either end and on both sides so it can be reversed.

    File handles deserve respect, too!

Do those have curved teeth and fastened to the handle with screws? I have a couple like that. I thought they were for body work?

Tired if Leaves Already any good Gutter guards?

I was at a home show once where they had a display. I asked how they did with heavy rains and he said they will overflow and you need proper foundation drainage. I said that is why I have gutters! He didn't know how to answer about causing "ice damming"

Sometimes I feel like tools are addicting.

I think of it this way: I could be spending money on a lot worse things. I'm not a drinker, gambler, smoker, sports fanatic, etc. The little bit that I spend on tools these days is hardly anything. It's not keeping food from our table. At worse case after I'm gone, someone sells it for scrap.

    File handles deserve respect, too!

I have a bunch of files without handles, a wood lathe, nice dried wood even scraps, some copper pipe for ferrules and some nice pictures for ideas. Just a little motivation would be nice!

    Woodshop Help

Sorry to hear about your father. Sounds like you need to get the building "weather proof". Come up with some way to get it insulated. Can you do a double door to get your truck in (maybe one standard size and the other oversized). I think this way you can get the equipment into it, while...
