How to remove concrete driveway staining?

Just stain the driveway a light gray maybe? Would probably make it virtually disappear.

    How to waterproof my garage?

You can't cover a fist-sized hole with paint dude. We need pictures of this disaster to make any recommendations. As a learning point, it makes no difference if outbuidings are 'included' in an inspections process according to any municipality, mortgage lender or whoever. If you're buying a...

    Flow through vs solid

If you have issues with your concrete dusting, address it first. Densifier and sealer is not hard to do.

Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT We're getting a new patio and the old garage didn't really fit, sooo

Looks great! 600sq ft. is really the sweet spot for me in terms of usability balanced with fitting on a modest lot and not overpowering the home.

    Garage door maintenance

I'd clean it up and see how long she runs. The most important thing for smooth operation is cleaning and lubing the big torsion spring.

    Vintage Drednaut Floor Jack

I'd don't know anything about it but I'd love to be working on a project and quietly mutter in my best Movie Preview Guy voice: "Go get the Drednaut".

    Garage door maintenance

I'm (half) joking. It's like a transmission that has not been serviced for 100,000 miles and 15 years. Some well-meaning third owner gets hold of it and figures he'll catch up on the maintenance. Transmission immediately fails. It's a thing.

    Garage door maintenance

I can't believe that door even works. Hit it with garage door lube and wipe all the gunk off with a rag. It will be quieter and work great for two days at which point it will catastrophically fail.

Insulating Metal Shed in Hot Humid Florida

Ridge vent is pointless without soffit or gable vents, so that's weird. I'd block off the ridge vent and spray foam it.

Garage ceiling damaged because of rain

Get a pro out there to find the leak before you fix the damage. But I agree with the above, take detailed photos and then rip out all the wet insulation and drywall before this problem compounds. As far as you saying that the roof looks 'fine' and you don't think a leak is coming from a...

    Please critique my garage

It's nice looking but the layout looks awful for working on cars. The lift is too close to the wall for my liking and that vast wall of windows, while attractive, would preclude cabinets or storage on that whole wall. The windows actually look too low to even have benches there? I also agree...

Anyone have this particular husky box? How do you like it.

They were installed on both boxes.

Anyone have this particular husky box? How do you like it.

My brother has several of those. The boxes have held up well to medium-duty use but the one that got rolled around a lot had the casters bite the bullet after about a year. Replaced with some expensive, larger casters with pneumatic tires and all is good now. Looks like the casters might be...

Any Long Lasting garage door openers?

I think that, generally speaking, garage door openers last a long, long time. My Liftmasters in my home are 22 years old and going strong. My Mom's place has a Genie that dates to the Reagan administration for crying out loud. It's like anything else around the home. The amount of time it...

Global Industrial Extra Heavy Duty Boltless Shelving - Reviews?

All of those cheap stamped steel shelves that use particle board shelves are complete trash. Moreso if they will be in a humid environment. Any weight and the shelves will sag.

First work bench. I’m inexperienced. Looking for suggestions and advice on optimizing this workbench.

Welcome to Garage Journal. As a nurse, you've been 'fixing' things vastly more complex than what you'll encounter on your workbench, that's for sure.

Can you light a burn pile over your leach field?

You guys are a bunch of weirdos. Burning some brush on top of your leach field is not going to do anything to it. That's like trying to avoid putting grass clippings on it. The lines are 20-24" under the surface. It drains ALL AROUND the pipe, 360 degrees. You think some ash, half of which...

    Garage Door Insulation

Is getting a new, properly insulated door not an option?

Can you light a burn pile over your leach field?

I would burn away. Methane is not going to be an issue and it is not going to get hot enough to do anything to your lines. You are overthinking this.

    So I got a quote...OMG

I feel for you. In this day and age when every kid that works at Starbucks wants $20/hr, by the time that works its way up the financial ecosytem through the ripple effect, a 'cheap' car costs $40,000 and you get a quote for almost $20,000 to enclose a patio. Unfortunate but that seems to be...
