thats the color that Curtis Uses too. having a manchester tank isnt any giveaway, most MFG's use them. it could be a Kellog, but that pump looks like an old Champion R-15? see if there is a tank number on the badge plate "NBB number" you might be able to trace it with that as long as it was...

Issues with air plumbing and filtering options

I am familiar with that sharpe unit, the pressure drop shouldnt be that much through those 3 stages. although those are made to be mounted inside paint booths and regulated down to about 40 psi on the outlet (so most people wouldnt notice the drop), and not meant to supply treated air to an...

    Recommend me a Air Compressor

dont get me wrong. I am not bashing Big Box Compressors, but there is a big difference between and campbel hausfeld "6hp" direct Drive, and A Quincy QT-5, a BIG diff. addition: Mainly the actual hp, and the ACFM, no one finds it odd that the larger 6hp CH doesnt provide half as much cfm as...

Issues with air plumbing and filtering options

your concern with the sharpe dryers 1/4" inlet tube is silly, 200+ cfm desicant dryers use small inlets and outlets with about 5 psi pressure drop and zero volume restriction. restiction through filters should be addressed at linlet with a regulator, plus, pressure drop through a filter is no...

    compare compressors

Quincy Hands Down.... unless you dont have 2-3 weeks to wait for one. They both are most likely around 79 to 80 dBa loud enough to hear them but not so much that your teeth rattle.

    Recommend me a Air Compressor

because the smallest REAL air compressor (belt driven motor and pump) are 5 hp's that make 15-17 cfm at 100 psi. anything smaller is just a toy. Chicago Pneumatic's RCP series 3.5 hp and under are really good REAL air compressors just search Chicago Pneumatic RCP-220P (2hp 20 gal) RCP-226VP...

    Compressor quandry

point of use FRL's, its a little more expensive than doing an inline system, but at least you know what you're getting with a point of use unit. the big plus is that you dont contaminate any system piping with a point of use system.

This may sound weird but what do you do?

    need a 1" impact

if you go with a CP (chicago pneumatic not Central Pneumatic) right now you get a $40 mail in rebate with your purchase. you can get them for around $700 depending on where you go. The Florida Pneumatics are pretty good for their price too.
