I went to Home Desperate today to pick up some weed wacker plastic wire....anyways, I walked passed an end cap at the end of the garden supplies aisle and saw a stack of Rigid Wet/Dry vacs. Saw that the 9 gallon-3.5hp unit was marked at $28.97. Didn't think much about it (the price) as I...

New house being built, garage question

My Garage is only 20 x 18. I can fit 2 cars in it with my work bench and tools, but then there is no space to work. I will usually pull the car out and work in the driveway in front of the garage, then put the car back in for storage. It is a pain, but workable. Here are some pictures. The...

    floor jack

I bought one of those aluminum 'race' jacks from HF a couple of years ago on sale for about 60 bucks. I needed it to get my car high enough for the 'real' jack. I use the aluminum one very often, esp. when going to help a buddy or neighbor and don't feel like lugging the big one around. The...

    Blast cabinets **again, I know**

Anyone have any comments on this one....the free shipping makes it all the more attractive, but if it is a POS, then I won't bother.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Sand-blaster-sandblasting-cabinet-sandblaster-blast_W0QQitemZ4610145022QQcategoryZ43986QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Thanks, Tim

    Car Carpet Vacuuming?

How about one of those rollers that folks use for jackets/coats for removing hair and lint. I think that they have sticky tape on them and you roll it over the fabric/carpet and it picks everything up? A bit more labor intensive (especially in your current crippled condition), but may be a...

    Running Natural Gas to Garage

Well...let me chime in here a little since I work for The Gas Company, although it is with the Transmission side (large diameter -16" to 42", and high pressure - 400psig to 1400psig). Black pipe is still acceptable, although you would be better served using the green coated steel pipe. Where...

Polyethylene canopies - how to protect

Yeah...the last one I had I lag bolted to the driveway. I live right on the coast, so the sun isn't too hot, but the sea air doesn't help, neither does the jet exhaust fall out from the airport.....

Polyethylene canopies - how to protect

I wanted to get another enclosed canopy like this one: http://www.kingcanopy.com/enclosedcanopy.htm I have had similar ones before (bought at Costco) and after a couple of years out in the sun the tarps begin to get brittle and tear. Are there any kind of products that can prevent, or at least...

    Need a fastener

You could always use a weld through primer.....I think from an integrity standpoint, welding will be the ideal manner to complete your part. Rivets and such allow flexing at the joint which will eventually cause it to fail.....
