2 post lift arms are too short.

Remember that the arms act as a cantilevered beam and as you extend the length of the arms, you're increasing the force on the beam, the lift, and the pullout force on the fasteners holding it to the floor. Try holding something heavy close to your body and then at arm's length to illustrate...

Differences between HF 56" Series 2 boxes w/different part numbers

I was told the same thing - that they can only order the number that is on the "ticket" they have on the display. In my case, that is only the 64458 black model - not the 64457 one that I want.

Vehicle Positioning with a MaxJax - What a Pain!

And spending more than five minutes aligning a vehicle on the lift without the floor jack would drive me nuts...

Vehicle Positioning with a MaxJax - What a Pain!

Pull vehicle in between the uprights - make some mark (like the tennis ball trick) to get it right front to back. Use a floor jack to lift up the back and center it. Drag the floor jack around to the front, lift it up, and center it. Done in less than five minutes.

I'd say you're doing it wrong if you end up reaming out the gauge.

Differences between HF 5-Drawer Service Carts w/different part numbers

Depending on color, there are between one (blue) and three (black & red) part numbers for the 5-Drawer Service Carts (other colors have two numbers each). With threads like this one on the differences between HF 56" Series 2 Boxes, has anyone looked into the differences between the 5-Drawer...

Ever had a tool you just couldnt kill?

Bought a Craftsmen 3/8" drill out of college - thirty years ago. I figured I'd wear it out in a few years and upgrade when I had more money, but it's still going.

Differences between HF 56" Series 2 boxes w/different part numbers

I was afraid of that... I haven't had any luck tracking down a 64457 locally and all the stores are telling me the 64458 is the only one they can order. Considering the differences, it's probably cheaper for HF so that is why they're getting them instead of the 64457.

I'd weld a stud or tap a hole in the frame - not the sheetmetal.

Differences between HF 56" Series 2 boxes w/different part numbers

I'm ready to pull the trigger on a 56" here. Last week, the local HF store said they had two coming in on the weekend delivery, so I stopped in first thing Monday morning - no cabinets. No cabinets even on order for their store, for that matter. But I talked with them about whether they could...

Differences between HF 56" Series 2 boxes w/different part numbers

At the store here, the piece of paper you take up to the cashier just has the 64458 number on it. Only the main item tag has both the 64457 and 64458 number on it. That worries me. It seems strange that the website allows you to pick one or the other but the stores are just "luck of the draw"...
