    Vise maintenance?

I don't think you need to overthink this one. It has few moving parts and they are slow moving so what type of lube you use is not a big deal. I just took this picture of my vise, I have been grinding rust off parts all day on or near it. It see's lots of metal grinding. You can see a couple...

How many here regularly earn money (income) in their HOME garage?

Years ago I made a set of rock sliders for my Prado and posted some pictures on a forum, ended up making around 300 sets for others :rocker: Don't make many anymore but sent out a set just last week. I also built some off road camper trailers, I would build one and use it for a year or so...

Smoke and spatter while MIG welding, why?

That was my thought, I have had it a couple of times where a bottle of gas just makes it smoke and spatter, once onto the next bottle it goes back to normal. Cheers Andrew

Need your advice to send 2" conduit under sidewalk.

I did had to do the same thing to run my mains power to my house from the other side of the road. I just hooked up the conduit to the garden tap and water jetted it under the road after digging the trench either side. I jetted around 30 feet and it went through fairly straight, only slightly off...

    Welding vs Electronic devises.

MIG, TIG, Stick no issue. Industrial level spot welders generate intense magnetic fields that can cause issues, they will definately ****** your credit cards :) Cheers Andrew

    Remote repairs, repairing remotely

I know its not quite what you were asking, but I have done repairs in some pretty remote places :) Earlier this year we were heading across the Simpson Desert in Central Australia which is the largest parallel sand dune Desert in the world. We came across a guy who had snapped the drawbar on...

Difference between Knipex Cobra vs. Alligator ?

That is not the case here, Cobras are only around 30% more. I am pretty sure my selection of Knipex pliers is going to grow, I really like the look of those Cobras, and the Raptors, and the pliers wrenches :) Cheers Andrew

    Broken Studs, Broken Bolts!

Yes always best to avoid the problem, but in my case I don't have anything to pre heat them. Add to that, the bolt pictured was holding a piece of plastic to the crossmember so pre heat wasn't an option anyway. As you say every broken bolt poses its own challenge, find the right answer for...
