    Removing center post

Ok so the beam is supporting the ceiling joists plus those two knee walls that support the rafters. This plus the size of the beam and the fact that the beam is spliced as others have mentioned indicates that the center post is necessary. This is a bit odd in its manner of construction, usually...

    Removing center post

In the picture of the attic, it almost looks like the the attic joists run perpendicular to the roof rafters. Is this possible?

    Cold climate. Garage temps.

Western Nebraska, 3600 sq ft shop, 10’ walls, in-floor radiant, well insulated. I keep at 65 degrees air temp at eye level. Very comfortable, I work in shirtsleeves. In the past, monthly cost was around $100 for ng and electricity. Will be more this year due to increased energy costs.

Need some help with bendpak hd9

the lift cylinders are one way cylinders, meaning that hydraulic pressure is only applied to the rod end of the piston on the way up. The cylinder side of the piston has air (and possibly some hydraulic fluid that may have leaked past the cylinder) in it and has to find its way out. Conversely...

    Radiant tube heater??

yes it is! Radiant heat heats objects, not the ambient air. It’s like standing in front of a campfire on a cool evening, you feel warm even though the air is cool.

    Frustrated with in-floor heat quoted.

Good to hear! Don’t give up on radiant floor heat. It will be the best possible heat for your particular situation. Your comfort zone will be 3-4 feet from the floor, perfect for in floor radiant! It is the most comfortable economical heat that I have ever experienced. Don’t worry about total...

Commerical building with multiple tenants/owners, with METERED in-floor radiant heat.

Well Water Intermittent use in un-insulated garage set up help needed.

A stop and waste valve will do what you want. This is a valve that can be buried below the frost line. When turned off, it drains down the downstream piping thru a drain hole in the valve. The valve can be controlled from above ground.

Old style well tank water logged after 2 years

As these bladderless pressure tanks begin to lose their air charge, the pump cycles more often as water is used. This rapid cycling shortens the pump life. THIS is the main reason to use a bladder tank!

Old style well tank water logged after 2 years

Back in the days before pitless adapters and submersible pumps, rural properties had their wells in outdoor pits and the pressure tanks were in these pits.

    Rustics Wood Shop...

Couple of suggestions based on my own woodworking shop, which is 16 by 32 and laid out similar to yours. I would rotate your workbench 90 degrees and make it the same height as your table saw. This will allow you to slide material from the workbench onto the table saw. I would also suggest...

Will you be drilling a well? If so, separation of the well and the septic will also be a factor.

Using hindsight... what/how would you do things differently from the beginning?

I built my 3600 sq ft shop 7 years ago. What would I do differently? Nothing! This is because I planned for 2 years. My point being, plan, plan and then plan some more. Consider everything, car storage, work flow, current and future equipment, personal needs, tool storage, heat and cooling etc.
