    Double Flaring Tool set

Ooooooh yeah, the Mastercool kits are absolutely awesome, and reasonably priced too. I have the kit in pic below. The best thing about this kit is the ability to splice a brake line in properly, by creating the industry-standard double flare while the line is still on the vehicle. And it creates...

    45k Sterling Unit Annoying Drone

I Dynamat'd my furnace and ductwork. Plus I added TWO layers of Dynamat to the squirrel cage fan housing. It made a huge difference! Got rid of virtually all annoying drone/whine. It's been up for five years, no problems at all. I made sure to thoroughly clean and degrease any areas prior to...

    Returning Tools?

OP, talk to the Snap-On dealer that sold you the tools. If nothing else, he may know someone that will buy them. He would be the very best person to have out there selling your set. Maybe he would want a commission or something, but get rid of them. Good luck in the service!

Reznor UDAP vs Hot Dawg - 45K what is quieter?

OK, I can answer this. My master bedroom wall abuts the garage. Right on the other side of the master bedroom wall (in the garage) hangs the Hot Dawg. Sometimes it goes on in the very cold weather and I can hear it, but ever so slightly. It certainly does not wake me up, or anything even close.

Reznor UDAP vs Hot Dawg - 45K what is quieter?

I believe my Hot Dawg is a 45k model. It is fairly loud, not obnoxious at all, but definitely not whisper quiet.

Is a four post lift a good investment ?

I have 4-poster in my garage. I designed the garage so the lift would not be in the way. But many garages are tight, and the lift IS in the way of normal activities, so it might actually be a hindrance to a sale. The bottom line is, a used 4-post lift isn't worth much money anyway. And if you...

4 post lift ...not releasing locks

I almost collapsed my own 4-post lift when a lock was not working properly. It's extremely dangerous like that. Fix it.......... properly. Mine simply needed adjusting. Yours may need some actual fixing. But they are simple mechanisms; rods, levers, springs.... you can figure it out.

Where would you put your door openers?

Oh, and if you are still designing, then add some square footage to the garage.... and create a spot for a lift!

Where would you put your door openers?

Here's a couple of quick pics. I built one side with 16' ceiling, to accommodate a lift, so you can see how they set up both of the doors. I contracted it out to local garage door guys who do it for a living. Both doors are 10x8.

Where would you put your door openers?

I'd say "B". I have two doors like that in my garage, with two LM8500's and I use B. But I also have wireless openers just inside the entry door, and those (or the ones in cars) get used 95% of the time, so the two that you are concerned about will not get used much. The openers are tiny, so...

What is this weird liquid seeping up from my garage floor. HELP

Wide car on 4 post lift limitations

I built my garage addition about 5 years ago and planned for a lift. It took me a lot of shopping to settle in on my lift, a 9,000 lb Challenger, 4-poster Q4P09X. I suppose everyone says they really love their selection, but I am totally happy with mine. It's extra wide and tall. Check out the...

Has anyone ever used a car jump starter?

I have one from Costco, it cost ~$50.... best money ever spent. I have older Cadillac that sits a lot. When I go to use it, the battery is often stone dead, not a lick of life. I connect that little jumper and .... BAM! ..... the engine cranks right over and car starts right up. I continue to...

Looking for a polisher wheel for my angle grinder

I'm looking for a polisher wheel for my angle grinder. I know the angle grinder spins (6500 rpm) faster than typical buffer/polisher, but I only want to use the polisher wheel to buff out plastic headlight lenses. This is the kind of wheel I am looking for (pic below)... will this work, or am I...

Buddy, I think the responses you've gotten here are terrific. You've received a lot of honest feedback from a wide assortment of folks. This is definitely a great forum! Good luck with your purchase, whatever you eventually decide. I've already given my $.02, so I won't be redundant here. I...

Mini Mill and Lathe for small shop?

I had very similar small machines (mill and lathe) a few years back. I used them for RC (radio control) custom parts. They are extremely limited in what they can do. I had a machinist buddy who guided me through the buying process of the machines, but then you need to buy all the...
