    Some Gas Grill Help

I have a Charbroil "professional" series 4 burner from Lowes. My ex g/f got me for my birthday about 5.5 years ago for around $299. It's held up well over the years. It could use some new grates as the ceramic coating is starting to chip off some of them from the heat cycles over the years. I...

    F you purolator

My accord I used to have was the same way. I love how Toyota remote mounted the filter on my tacoma right on top in the front of the engine bay. Sometimes I can get it off by hand, sometimes I need about 1/4 turn of the wrench just to get it started.

    F you purolator

I've been using Pureone filters for as long as I can remember and I've never had a problem with them. I used them on my accord I used to have and now I use them on my Tacoma. You guys must be tightening these way too tight. I've never had a filter that I've installed require more than about 1/4...

    What drill do you use?

Here's the one I use the most Hitachi 18V Lithium Ion impact driver. Absolutely love it! It will drive any fastener you can imagine and it's super lightweight and compact. The little belt hooks are super helpful too. I also use the 18V drill that comes with it as a kit I also have a Ryobi...

    pneumatic nailer - mainly 2 x 4/1 x 6 and sometimes 2 x 6

I have a Paslode framing nailer (currently out of comission, I think the trigger valve went bad, it won't fire) When it worked, it was great. I've framed a basement and a deck with it. My other nailers, 18ga 2" brad nailer, 16ga angled finish nailer, and 1.25" crown stapler are all Hitachi...

What to use for cabinet doors?

After a lot of consideration for different door styles, I decided on this because A: It's going in a garage, it doesn't need to be flashy/fancy. B: The simpler I make the process, the faster I get to hide all my junk. C: It's going in a garage, it doesn't need to be flashy/fancy. I have built...

Removing/Replacing Side Windows from Stick Framed Shop

The last house I lived in had a huge 4x4 picture window on the side of the garage and a standard window on the back. I bought some 5% window tint from walmart and put it on the side picture window and stapled some 6mil poly sheeting on the back window (since the mullions would make tinting more...

What to use for cabinet doors?

Yep, you don't NEED a faceframe. I made frameless cabinets in my garage with full overlay doors and euro hinges. MDF is great for stuff that's going to be painted. I just used the same 3/4" ply for the doors that I did for the carcasses. HD had a stack of 3/4" cabinet grade ply on clearance for...

    Creepers? What do you recommend?

I have a harbor freight creeper but it's not one of the plastic ones. It has a metal frame and a padded cushion. Sometimes I use it, sometimes I don't. The epoxy floor makes sliding in and out from under the vehicle a lot easier unlike concrete where you have to scoot.

    Running Low Voltage Network Wire

Good idea ^^^ I didn't do a video but I took lots of pictures when my house was under construction. They're also uploaded to my facebook so I can't really ever "lose" them because they're stored "in the cloud." I went to the house just about every evening when it was under construction to...

What do you use to clean the parts under the hood

I use purple power diluted about 3 parts water to 1 part degreaser. I spray it on the engine with a spray bottle and then use a bucket of car-wash soap and purple power mixed and scrub anything I can scrub with a soft bristled scrub brush. Then rinse with the hose.

About to sheetrock.... have a couple questions

Insulate it for sure. It makes it much cooler in the summer time. My garage used to get sweltering hot in the summer time before I insulated the ceiling and the garage door, now it stays much cooler in the summer time. It's also a plus for the winter time too. 48" oc?!? wow, The largest span...

    Running Low Voltage Network Wire

Run more cable than you think you'll need. When they were building my house, I came one evening after the crews left with some friends and ran speaker wires, extra coax, and HDMI cables in my living room, out to my screened porch, the master bedroom, and the master bath. I did this before all...

    Looking for small rubber plugs

Well first of all, sounds like the carb might need a little tuning or just replace it. Ever since I put a new carb ($30 shipped from MTD) on my little MTD backup push mower, it will fire up on the second pull sometimes the first pull after about 5-10 pumps of the primer bulb. This thing does...

    Name a tool you hate

GA red clay practically turns into concrete if it hasn't rained in a few days. Add the marble rocks in the soil where I live (I live near Tate, GA, the marble capital of the south) Fortunately we put my fence up in March and the soil wasn't that dry and a lot easier to dig. We ended up having to...

New Home Garage Floor has no slope

Mine is aprox. 1/4 per foot. It falls about 4.5-5" from the inside wall to the garage door. I still have some low spots that don't drain immediately but they drain enough that they evaporate in a few hours.
