    4 post lifts

Ben, Part of the problem is you are trying to work against a stereotype. It is hard for consumers to pick out the best lift for their needs since it is so common for salesman to push their brand of lifts without having any concrete evidence for their claims. From your response it sounds like...

Answer to Grounding Question Needed Before Inspection Tomorrow

Well, the inspector must have been in a bad mood when I talked to him on the phone. He was very pleasant and professional today. The first panel he looked at had 2 ground wires coming in, he commented on having both grounds, asked where the ground rod was at, I showed it to him, he just...

Answer to Grounding Question Needed Before Inspection Tomorrow

Right in the middle of my conversation with the inspector, he just started talking else in his office for 5 minutes. He didn't ask me to hold on, didn't apologize for the interruption, I thought it was rather rude. First thing he said when he got back on the phone was "are you an electrician?"...

    4 post lifts

I just compared the Rotary Revolution RFP9 specs and the Direct Lift Pro Park 9 Plus. The specs are all identical except the direct lift shipping weight is 50 pounds less and the price is $1000 less than the Rotary.

    4 post lifts

I have always heard very good things about Rotary, since I am in the market for a lift, I checked out Oil Equipment Company's website, there was a link to eBay auctions, and they had a Rotary Motorcycle Lift, since I own a motorcycle shop I was interested. I was surprised at what I saw...

Answer to Grounding Question Needed Before Inspection Tomorrow

I am much more worried about the timing then the cost. I have waited a week for this inspection since scheduling (it is tomorrow at noon). If I fail that inspection, it will be at least another week before they will reinspect it. I tried calling a few electricians, and they wouldn't answer...

Answer to Grounding Question Needed Before Inspection Tomorrow

I will try to make this as clear as possible. I just purchased an 4700 sq ft industrial zoned building, when I tried to have the power turned on/transferred into my name the utility company said I needed a city inspection since it has been turned off for more than 12 months. The inspection is...

    4 post lifts

The cheesy video may have not been the best choice for GSE to promote themselves, but I found it a least a little amusing  I have quite a few items from Greg Smith including an Atlas tire changer and balancer, (2) motorcycle lifts, shop press, winch, etc. I have been very happy with...

    Grinding Concrete

I just purchased a 4700 sq ft building and the previous owner cut sections out of the concrete to install floor drains. There is an area that is 2 feet wide and 100 feet long that wasn't leveled when they filled it back in with concrete. It is raised up nearly 3/4" in many places. I would...

    Floor Tiles.

I have never heard of them, there are alot of junk floor tiles out there. Make sure to check into RaceDeck before you buy anything. I put down RaceDeck 6-7 months ago and am very happy with it, many others on here have had it down alot longer than me.

    mustang/ford garages

:bounce: Actually that was one of the safety chains, somehow it came off on the trip down. I guess that is what happens when you hook the trailer up at 4am.

    mustang/ford garages

There is a Hoover Steamvac in one of the pictures. Is that what you were wondering about? I have no idea what it is, that is my wife's tool  It is just there since we had to steam clean the carpets in the rental house out front a few days before I took the pictures of the shop.

sources for "commercial" 8 ft fluorescent fixtures besides Lowes + HD?

I almost put those fixtures in my shop 6 months ago. When I was looking Lowes and Home Depot were the cheapest. The electrical supply houses had fixtures with a little better quality ballast, but if I remember right the cheapest one was $75, many were more than that. I ended up putting 8'...

    3x3 checkerboard?

When I bought mine I couldn't decide between a 2x2 or 1x1 checker. The main portion of my shop is 40'x55' so I thought the 1x1 checker may be too small, but there are alot of odd angles in my building so I figured it would make those less noticeable. I needed the same tiles either way, so I...

    3x3 checkerboard?

I have never seen 3x3 tiles done either. I am sure it would still look nice, but I think it would make the area look smaller. If I was doing that size floor, I would just do a 1x1 checker, possibly with a border. On the wall with my workbenches in my shop, I did a 3 tile wide border where the...

    Blacktop floor

When I bought my shop, you couldn't tell the floor was asphalt, it was so dirty and there was so much junk around it looked like concrete. I was suprised how quickly the asphalt degraded running the forklift and manlift around on it. We also spilled a little gas on it which softened it right...

    Blacktop floor

If I remember right he paid $22,000 for it. They often sell as much as $100,000 depending on the signficance of the car. The cheapest one I saw was a Juan Pablo Montoya rolling chassis/body for $5,000.

    Cars lifts for motorcycles also?

I was merely offering a suggestion, since it seems alot of people don't realize how cheap you can get a professional quality motorcycle lift for. Being that you are in the Phillipines could complicate things, but I really have no clue what lifts you have available over there. Personally, I...

    Cars lifts for motorcycles also?

If you can spare the cash and space, buy one of these: http://www.gregsmithequipment.com/Motorcycle_Lifts_s/2.htm I have 2 of the XLT versions in my shop and they are really nice. My technician has always used Handy Lifts at the other shops he has worked, and he says they function identically...
