Is it just me or do those Heyco combos seem short for the sizes they are?:headscrat

Sometimes a tool find isnt a tool

That looks like a very interesting find. Having grown up in Dearborn and visited the Henry Ford Museum and Green Field Village many times, I love seeing things like that. If anyone is ever in the Detroit area, they owe it to themselves to visit the museum and village. Everytime I go there I...

quick question on proto impact sockets

Well J&L Industrial Supply has a Proto 15pc 1/2drive (3/8 to 1-1/4) shallow set for almost $120 and a 15pc deep set of the same sizes for almost $180. That's $300 for the two sets, so if he has those sets and they are complete, I don't think $180 is a bad deal at all, especially if most are unused.

Where some of my tools spend the day and nights?

I grew up in Dearborn, MI which has a large Middle Eastern population. (the largest outside of the Middle East actually). Well anyways I remember talking to kids in school that would go see their families over seas and stay for most the summer, then come back for school. But I never really got...

Great Deal On Flank Drive Plus Wrenches

SO has wrench organizers that are in pairs (strips). They have a small set and large set. The larger set part # is KRA22A. They are listed for $12.75 for the pair. Also Craftsman has some foam organizers that I bet would hold the larger wrenches. Look in the "show us your tool box" thread for...

    Pliers

Can't say I know what you mean. Every MAC truck I have ever been on is usually on the empty side.:spit:

You might think that, but take a walk on the Matco truck and you'll notice three little letters missing.

    Snap-On 3/4" Dr. Deep Sockets

The last catalog I have them in is the 500i Snap-On Industrial catalog. That was from 1999. I don't have anything between that and the new 1000 catalog so I am not sure exactly when they stopped making them. They still list the LS342 1-1/16" deepwell socket.

snap on questions SX80 vs. SLF80

I like having normal flex heads and normal long handles. I guess if I were to buy just one, I would probably get the locking since it seems to cover both ratchets. My only problem with the SO is that you have to slide it over to get it to stay unlocked. I'd be worried about it getting knocked...

    Combination Wrenches....choices

The Craftsman Pro set you showed would be a good set to get that you would get alot of use out of. You could also watch the used market, i.e. craigslist, ebay, pawnshops etc. for other brands. There are lots of choices out there other than truck brands like Proto, Wright, and Armstrong.

Witte screwdrivers sold by Matco best hand grips out there, thoughts?

I think they are ok handles. My problem is they get nasty pretty quick working on greasy and oily jobs. Seems like they might be better suited for electrical work or something clean.

    Will Mac Tools warranty this?

It's worth a shot. Is there hammer marks or anything on the handle where it is pealing? They might not warranty it if there are. As for your worries of getting the same wrench back, just ask where the new one is made before you send it in.

    Tubular wrench ends ?

You should also try looking for a Snap-On OH24. It is a long flex-socket combo wrench they used to make for alignments. It's about 16" long. Unfortunately this is another tool series they discontinued so you might have a hard time finding one.
