The Smoke and Mirrors of Tools!

7 pages? Really?........:wtf::headscrat I try to only post when I feel I have something to contribute or want to pay someone a compliment, but this is crazy. Autoace seemed to be just looking out for any new members or onlookers who might not be familiar with purchasing tools as a...

    Let's see your toolbox.

Yeah I see it now. Those kits are crazy expensive. Good thing they supply those for us, I would not want to have to spend that kind of money on some crimpers.:shocking:

    Half moon wrenches?

I have used those several times at work. Usually for taking off something that is in a confined space such as a starter or a hydraulic pump. They aren't needed very often but when you find the need they can be a life saver.

Special tool needed to crip on SO KRL-style drawer trim?

I would just wait for the tool. No sense in marring up your nice new tool box.

Which tools you will only buy Snap on

Flare-nut wrenches and angle wrenches. They have the magic numbers: 30* and 60* angles. Other than that there isn't anything I need that would have to be Snap-On.

Help needed.. Apprentice choosing a tool kit! Please help!

Hi Corky, I am just about to finish up my apprenticeship/training in heavy equipment repair this May. I don't have much to add that the others haven't already covered, but I will say that if you are going through a vocational school, you may be able to even get a discount from Snap-On...

    Little known gem tool boxes?

You should do a thread. I'd like to see some close ups of the box and how it is organized and such. I have never seen one in person.

    Network/Electronic tool Kit?

I am pretty sure you can get it without the case. Under the price list for each set they usually show the prices for: the complete set, tools only, case only, etc. http://www.stanleysupplyservices.com/product-detail.aspx?pn=23-087R

    Proto Big Dawg rebuild kit

Also if you have a MAC dealer they may be able to get you one. For a while MAC was selling a Big Dawg of their own. When I broke my long 1/2" drive Proto Big Dawg, I got a kit from my MAC dealer.

    Show off your wrenches!!

Awwww come on:bowdown: Ahh man. I remember those. I grew up in Allen Park down the street from Crazy Benzy's. There was actually a toy store there before it that sold Brio (little wooden trains). But yeah, I loved Performance too. Cool store. I bought my IR impacts there and my first circular...

    Show off your wrenches!!

Wow this thread makes me sad. There are way to many wrenches out there that aren't in my tool box. Vintage Snap-On and Plomb, Gray wrenches, all kinds of goodness. At least I haven't spotted any tubular handled wrenches with the detachable ends, or any of the xl Snap-On flex-head wrenches (OH...

    Bonney wrench score!!

Very nice. I am slightly jealous. Those are some of the most common sizes I use. 11/16, 13/16, and 15/16 are common hydraulic fitting sizes for me. 3/4 is very common for bolts, and 7/8 is used for some other fittings as well as track adjusters on dozers. A few guys at work have the Matco...

4-way Angle Head Open Wrenches, Flank Drive Plus or Not?

I have a set of the std angle wrenches. As far as angle wrenches go, this is one place where I say Snap-On or nothing. Like the other's have said, they are the only ones with 30* and 60* angles. Most others are 15* and 60*, but since most combo wrenches already have a 15* angle on them, then you...
