    Question 20x22 Garage Lighting

3 rows of 3 lights plus 2 lights (perpendicular and in between the rows) at the workbench end of my 20x21 garage. 4 switches. Also have one on a wall (for detailing my car) and two retractable fluorescents (for underhood work) installed above the front bumper of my cars. It was well-worth the...

    First Welding Project

It's a Lincoln 135A Weld-Pak (HD). Guess the air cutoff tool is best suited for working in wet conditions.

    First Welding Project

Aside from either a torch, metal chop saw, or band saw, what is good for cutting? Reciprocating saw (don't have one yet) with metal-cutting blade or 4.5" electric grinder with cutoff disk (have one)?

    First Welding Project

Needed a shelf bracket for my plastic storage shed since the last two ones broke very easily. New one is made of 1/8" bar ($3.50) and a couple of #14 screws. Observations: Need more practice. 5 scfm 3" air cutoff tool has very little power and binds easily. The slightest breeze makes MIG...

Big feeder cable, little wall space

Would it be possible to go straight up from the basement through a finished wall on the first floor and enter the attic to run it over and then back down to the garage? That's what I did to run a #1 aluminum feeder for a subpanel in my attached garage. A contractor friend suggested that I run...

    whats your opinion?

Wanted a couple of extra outlets in my 2-car garage, but had never done any wiring before. Read everything I could and ended up doing it myself including this subpanel:

Getting ready to epoxy my grage floor.

Hard to believe those two pictures are of the same house. Huge improvement. I installed Armorchip one year ago. It has held up well and still looks great. The forklift-duty clearcoat had strong fumes during application causing me to see a few brain cell ghosts. Recommend using a respirator for...

SOOW cord. Highly flexible and oil/weather resistant.

    Amorclad epoxy

I believe the Armorclad is actually Armorpoxy. If so, I highly recommend it. My Armorpoxy (purchased from Armorgarage) floor is nearly one year old and has held up very well to hot tires, road salt, and general mild abuse. The uncured epoxy behaves much like a really thick paint would. It...

    etching/grinding help

Dyma-Serts (diamond blocks) are needed for the Edco. Additional weight placed on the motor will help also.

    Painting before epoxy

Stem wall. Mine were super porous and took 25% more epoxy than expected.

    Another grinding question...

Dyma-Serts are needed. A single-disc Edco would be fine.

    power socket questions

Outlets should be on 20A breakers, spaced every 4', and installed 4.5'-high so a 4' sheet of plywood/drywall will not block them. 2-gang boxes near the workbench. There should be at least 2 convenience outlet circuits in a garage that size. Consider a dedicated compressor circuit and heat/AC...

Floor first. Dustmuzzle (exact fit, not the universal one) will attach grinder to vac. Nice clock.

    Anyone used armorgarage flooring

It was recommended to me and I applied it 6 months ago. It's held up well and I would recommend it myself. No issues. Best value out there IMO. Good customer service too.
