Any funny stories on lost tools?

I have a 69 Mustang, and they were notorious for the door windows coming unglued and falling out of the mechanism. In the late 80s, I had a local shop fix it, they did a fair job, but it did not fit great and it had a rattle. Last summer, it comes un-glued again. Pulled the door panel and...

    Ceiling fans, 20 foot ceilings

I work for a fire dept., and the building I am stationed at has two different size ceilings. One has a 20 foot ceiling and during this summer it has been about 104 near the top of the ceiling, and 94, give or take at 5 feet. The other bay we have is a 24 foot ceiling, (a newer portion of the...

    Another "wtf is it?"

For disconnecting small or medium size fire hose. Up to 3 inch. The rectangle on the top is used to shut off gas valves in residential and some commercial applications. There are multiple different arrangements of this tool. Some even fold. I am 50 feet from a fire engine with at least 10...

Garage with loft plans for Pierce County, Washington

Pierce county is tough. My father in law was specifically told NO LOFT in his pole barn. Are you in a city, like Puyallup or Buckley?

Need 2014 Toyota Hilux books or CD

A friend in Togo has a 2014 Hilux. It is an "NGO" truck from some outfit in Gibraltar I believe. Looking for anything on it besides a basic owners manual. I am guessing it is a bit early for the aftermarket to catch up with this yet. Hilux info is close to non existent in the U.S. So if it...

Help! no Fork lift ..Any recommended bendpank lift installer in North Jersey?

Call around. I rented a lift truck. Well worth it. Takes a long time to empty a semi trailer. Or figure out a way to get it home on your own. Time is not on your side if they truck is in the road.

    Quiet vacuum

I loved my Shop Vac that had a "quiet feature" as part of its marketing. It worked great until a family member sucked up some small nails with no filter. I should have bought the new motor. I now have a Nilfisk. Three times the money for pretty much the same performance. I hate loud dirt...

    Paint sheen for garage walls/ceilings

My walls have never gotten all that dirty, or they do evenly,or I have so much **** I don't notice! It depends on what you are doing, so you may need to keep the ability to clean them on your mind. I love the lights. I will try to post a pic.

    Paint sheen for garage walls/ceilings

I did white "Gloss" a few years ago, and never really liked it. I thought that it would be brighter and look good. It just was never right and highlighted imperfections. In this house, I used white "satin", and it is great. It covers a lot more imperfections of my beginner level drywalling...

    IR Compressors

My IR home unit is old enough that I am unable to find a link to it. I bought it at a IR store. They sold NOTHING but IR items, and were friendly and helpful. They gave me a good deal on the "extras", such as additional filters, oil and such. If I remember right, they did not even charge me...

    IR Compressors

If I was not detailed enough with our troubles with IR, my apologies. The link to the model we have at the fire station and was problem plagued is here. http://www.grainger.com/product/INGERSOLL-RAND-Electric-Air-Compressor-4YW10?functionCode=P2IDP2PCP It has gone through two pressure switches...

    IR Compressors

I bought a higher end IR for my house, and it has gone very well. Bought a lower end one for work, (a fire station, light duty), and if *****. Switches going bad, service not interested in the fact that it went out days after warranty was up. OK, I understand, warranty was up, so that means...

    Fire Extinguisher Info

I have been involved in firefighting and EMS for over 32 years, and this is a great thread. Funny how people will buy Snap-On etc, or MagPul, but skimp on life safety items. Spend the money on good extinguishers, (I am almost tripping over them in my garage), and you have money well spent...

    Show off your old signs

Ebay, garage sales, some old buildings that friends may have access to. Lots of signs there. Check for a business that is going out of business, or changing brands etc. I found a Detroit Diesel Allison sign on a building I know was selling out. I met the guy due to a mutual friend, and...

    BendPak wobbly/lean?

I may bolt it, but it is not in the exact position I am going to keep it yet. It takes some getting used to, but I'm thinking it's good. I just want to be sure. Thanks all.

    BendPak wobbly/lean?

So I now have a Benpak HD9 4 post lift. Great! Customer service? Excellent! But, now that it is in, and when it is in the "down" position, with nothing on it, the post tend to lean in. When in the "up" position, it seems straight. It is not bolted down. I have had a 67 small block...
