    Tool Acquisition Mode

I'm the same way. I haven't bought any tools really since the end of December but there's lots of things on my wish list that I've been eyeing. Pretty soon I'll go on a tool spree again. I'm mostly just waiting for spring so I can make some more money. The shop has been dead at work lately.

The spirals work ok for exhaust manifold bolts if you can get to them to drill. That's all I used to use until the shop I work for finally got a welder. Now I just build a nub on the end of the bolt with the welder and turn them out with vise grips. Takes half as much time as drilling

Who Owns the Dewitt, Nebraska Vice Grip Plant Now?

That would be interesting. I've never had vise grips that gripped like Milwaukee's. I can't believe I haven't broken them torqueing on the adjustment loop with a pry bar!

    Extensions for 1/4 drive

Kobalt's Taiwan made 1/4" extensions are nice. I bought a set a couple of years ago, use them everyday. The knurling is nice and the chrome is as good as anything else i own. Pretty reasonably priced too if I remember right.

    Trusty-Cook, New Color

I guess that's one downside of all the bright colors; they don't stay bright very long. I like the blue for that reason. I got my first TC dead blow yesterday in blue and I love it. Now I'm just afraid of ending up like Strouty. :lol_hitti

    Trusty-Cook, New Color

I know this is a colors thread, but have you guys looked into a poly hammer line with rubber grips (like Snap-On, etc.)? Just curious. As far as the colors go, I like the yellow idea. Caterpillar yellow would sell I bet.

    Your bad air hose experience?

We have Flexzilla's at work, and other than me dropping brake rotors on two of them and hot slag from torching getting a third, they've been fantastic. They coil easy and they hold up. Not much more you can ask from an air hose.

I just saw Expert-tools on MAC,they are good or not

One of my co workers has an expert wrench set. They seem pretty decent; my only complaint is that they're shorter than most wrenches.

    Quick Release ratchets

My dual 80's are all hard to get the sockets off, at least with shallow chrome. Usually I just give the ratchet head a good whack on the edge of my service cart or the workbench. They pop right off. Only downside is after 5 years the edge of my cart doesn't have a drop of paint left!

What are your pet peeves with hand tools?

Don't know if anyone mentioned this yet but ratchets with the selector opposite of everyone else. I have a Kobalt 1/4" ratchet that the selector goes left for reverse and right for forward. Nice ratchet but it drive me nuts to use it after using an SO dual 80 all day

    Snap ring pliers

I'm sold on the Lang set from Amazon. I think they're the best for the money and I can't imagine ever wearing them out unless all I did all day was snap rings. They've been great.

    "pliers"

Nobody seems to make locking pliers that are worth a **** anymore. NOS Petersons are about the only option anymore. I keep wearing the teeth off everything else. My Taiwan made Milwaukee locking pliers are the only import I've used that worked, and that's probably due to me cranking them down...

What tool do you use to remove those Push Rivet Retainer?

I use one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Lisle-35400-Door-Upholstery-Remover/dp/B0002BC0PA/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1447031903&sr=8-3&keywords=Lisle+trim Sometimes I have to get under the head with a knife, but they never unscrew. Unless I'm in a bad mood or one of them gets stuck, and then I...

I couldn't swing SK Day and the green hammer deal that close together, but I guess I'll have to order a couple the next time they have a promo and see what all the fuss is about. They look really nice!

    Best circlip pliers?

I just bought a set of Lang pliers from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Lang-Tools-12-Piece-Combination-Internal/dp/B005MVB6TG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1445776314&sr=8-1&keywords=Lang+snap+ring I've only used them a couple of times but they seem very nice, and they're US made.

    worst tool brand

Blue hawk *****. Newer Kobalt china is pretty terrible too. As for Regal, I bought a ratchet and socket set when i was 14 and the ratchet still exists. It's not good but I've hit it with a hammer and had a 2 foot pipe on it and it hasn't broken. What more can I can ask for $10 in 10 years?

Neiko and Tekton. Junk or adequate?

I have a set of 3/8" Tekton impact extensions that I use all the time. I'm not sure how good they are at transferring torque, but they hold up to my MG325 well. I have no complaints for the price.

    Milwaukee E-service Warranty

Hey guys, I just had to send my 3/8" M12 ratchet to Milwaukee for repairs and I wanted to let you guys know how easy it was. My ratchet had motor issues; the motor was only running at about half speed and it smelled like the brushes were burning with no load. Sometimes the motor wouldn't start...

    Eye protection

One of my coworkers is coming back to work this Monday after being out since March for a similar injury. He was doing parking brakes on a Kia when the hold down spring popped out and sliced his left eye so bad the surgeon didnt think he would ever see again. He has at least partial vision back...
