    Official Epstein's Day 2015 Thread

New site looks great. Unfortunately I think I'll have to bow out of Epstein's Day this year though. Totaled my car yesterday so I have to pay a large tow bill (and find a new car). Hopefully I can scrape up a few dollars to buy some stuff in a couple weeks though. Thanks for all your hard work...

Hobbyist Grade Crows Foot Wrenches Recommendation

I've been using a Northern brand Taiwan set of flare nut crowsfeet for a couple of years in a pro environment and they've been great. I don't think I've rounded off anything with them. The Northern ones are discontinued but I'm pretty sure the Klutch ones are the same...

    Best 1/4" hex impact bits?

I have had good luck with the Shockwave bits. I've heard of people having problems with them; maybe I just got lucky. I'm using them in an automotive setting though so most of the time I probably don't abuse the smaller bits (T20, T25) as much as a contractor or someone doing framing, etc. My...

Snap On SLX80 skipped a tooth twice today.

My SX80 has only ever skipped a tooth after I lubed it with some grease that was way too thick. That being said, now that I've used it for a while it's perfectly quiet and never skips. I'd say it needs to be cleaned and lubed.

What is your Pet Peeve about your Tools?

I know that feeling. It's happened to me twice with SO metric sockets. $14 for a single socket and 20 minutes later I find it under my bench or in the wrong drawer. At least I have some spares now lol.

    Wire stripers

I have a pair of US Craftsman combo strippers that I use at work. I'm pretty sure they're made by Klein for Craftsman. Never had a problem with them in 5 years. The strippers work awesome and it cuts anything I need it to. I like that the cutting/stripping area is at the tip, it helps when I'm...

Sorry guys, didn't notice they didn't include Milwaukee stuff. Weird, they discounted Makita, Dewalt, and Bosch but not Milwaukee. That does ****.

    CPO Outlets 15% off sale

I did a quick search and didn't see this posted anywhere. CPO is doing a 15% off $75 or more sale for President's day. Just enter promo Prez15 at checkout. I used the opportunity to pick up some Sunex swivel sockets I've been wanting. Might be a good time to score some Milwaukee awesomeness as...

    best penetrating spray

Oxygen/acetylene. Best rust penetrant available and the only one I've ever had really work for a bolt that wouldn't move. For bolts that just turn hard the Mopar stuff we have seems to work pretty well. Does anyone know who makes it for Chrysler?

What is the last tool you broke?

I think the last tool I broke was a 1/2"-3/8" Craftsman impact adaptor. It happened about a week after I broke my SO 3/8" drive 15mm swivel socket with the adaptor and my MG725. Must be I overstressed both of them a little.

    1/4 inch sockets.

I have 1/4" Craftsman in a pro environment and they've been fine. I did replace the 10mm with a Wright one because I lost it, and the chrome on the Wright is fantastic compared to Craftsman. That's just cosmetics though functionally they're the same. I just have a thing for really shiny...
