No reason to keep the mag switch. Thats a 1/3 hp motor, a glorified light switch is enough, though you can buy a powertool type switch online or at the big box stores. You could probably sell the mag switch and make a few bucks off that, they don't build them like that any more.

I have one too. Got it last year. I cut it down a couple of inches so it could slide underneath the tablesaws's fence rails and strore related **** and bs. I can either roll it out or roll the saw out as needed.

Just keep in mind that VFD's aren't big fans of dust as they have a small fan in them for cooling and will **** a lot of dust in and it won't all get out. And they do need air circulation for cooling so if you are going to enclose it, it has to be large enough for said cooling to occur. You...
